Looking at Challenger 37 LX

Hello everyone. My name is Dennis and I currently own a 2012 Itasca Sunstar 35 F. It is a bath and a half model. My wife and I came across this new floor plan Challenger 37 LX and just went to see it yesterday. It is a great floor plan for us. We were not looking to trade but we may after seeing this floor plan. A couple of issues I have seen that I could sure need your help with. The cabinetry in the Thor product is very cheap and flimsy compared to my Sunstar. Has anyone had problems with this? I thought it might be because a weight issue. Also the other problem I have is all the complaints of poor quality and workmanship that I have seen in all the forums I have looked at. My Itasca has been flawless in 8000 miles. Can anyone comment on this? Is floor plan that important that you would give up quality? If we make this move we want it to last at least 10 years until we retire, at that point I hope to be able to afford a diesel pusher to take me into retirement. Please, any feedback would be helpful. Thanks

Winnebago makes and awful good product. With only 8000 mi. on it, I would sure think it would take you into retirement.

hello and welcome. Is your current Floorplan working for you? if the rig you have is working out for you, I would hold on to it longer and save the money to put towards the diesel pusher you really want. We are kind of in a similar boat. our current TT has been pretty much trouble free and is working for us but there is a sabre we are in love with. We decided to hang on to our current investment awhile longer until switching made monetary sense to us.

it is working for us except for sleeping capacity. we have two teenagers and 4 grandchildren. The Challenger 37 Lx sleeps 7-8. The question is do we bite the bullet now and make the new purchase and have now something that really works for us or wait. if we do wait, won't we lose more money down the road than if we did it now? Your thoughts.

In my opinion--you will be waaay ahead if you hold onto the Itasca.
You have to really take a look at this and decide if it's a need or a want. Thor hasn't got the best track record in the world lately.
