Upgraded some dashboard electronics

I replaced the dreaded Axxera stereo, hard wired my gps (no more dangling wires) and added a backup monitor. The monitor follows the directional signals and reverse then defaults to the rear camera to monitor the toad. My friend made a cover on his 3D printer to cover the monitor mount so no screws are visible. Android car play works great so there is seamless Pandora and Sirius with voice control. The radio is also capable of showing the rear camera as well. On to the next project.

What were your issues with the Axxera? Mine works great except for washing out some in the sun. I’m thinking about 3D printing a small hood for it.

I don't know which Axxera you have. Mine was the AV615BHM. The audio quality was terrible and I could not sync my phone without a wifi dongle, which I bought. The dongle kept dropping out. With everything hooked up I had a nest of wires to make everything work. The Pioneer works seamlessly and sounds great and no wires.

Did you check the manual?

Pop the trim bezel off the front of the radio. Your coach should have come with two thin metal tools that slide into small slots on each side of the radio, if not you can get them at some auto parts stores for a couple of bucks. Slide the tools in each side of the radio to release the locks, the radio can now be slid out of the dash. Here is a picture of the tools, sorry for the poor quality but it will give you an idea of what they look like. Hope this helps.

That's a great-looking setup: but what did you replace the Axxera with?
