Tire Minder Settings

I have just installed Tire Minder on my six tires. At present all tires range between 120 psi and 116 psi.

The sticker on the wall says to run tires at 95 psi.

I can not weight RV at this time, but will at first opportunity.

WHAT SHOULD I BE RUNNING IN THE TIRES?????

Also, what should my alert settings be?

Thanks to everyone in advance.

If driving the pressure will increase as the tempersture comes up, I've seen the pressure on mine on very hot days increase 25-30 psi & regardless of how careful I try I can't get the pressure on my gauge to match the monitor.

Your tire pressure should probably be in the 85-90 psi range. With the higher pressure you currently have your coach is going to feel like you're riding on round rocks. I would decrease the pressure to a max of 95 until you can get a weight and then go from there.

I have my tires set to 90 psi on our 35C based on expected load. The TireMinder low pressure alerts start when the tire is less than 15 percent of the desired entry. High pressure alerts start at 20 percent. (Note that we have the TM-66 and other TireMinder models may be different.) Temperature alerts have set values as well, but typically only for overheating.

TireMinder has an excellent manual and great tech support.

Without a known weight - I would reduce pressure to the 95 on the sticker... The actual weight may suggest you reduce more. This is of course COLD pressure...

The TM (and I expect most others) are not perfect devices - I believe rated at +/- 2%. The more gauges you try - the more unsure of your pressure you will be... I pick one that I trust (before I had the TM) - and the TM has been very close to it.

I have found that I need to set the TM pressure slightly higher than the actual to avoid excessive alerting. Their threshold was a little aggressive versus what I was seeing.
I'd suggest starting with the actual pressure and see what it does - but my experience was my tires tended to get just above the alerting level and stay there... Adjusted about 2-3psi higher (the monitor only - not the tires) silenced the alerts and runs fine.
