Is you 25.1 the e350? The Ford literature shows 18,500 gcvw. The e450 shows 22,000. I have a e450 and open trailer with 3400 lb drag car is between 5500 and 6000. Tows great behind vegas.

Hi Muggs
I have a e350 that show 18500. How much weight is your trailer? Is it steel or aluminum

Mine is steel with wood deck. Probably around 1600 to 1700 lbs. Car is right at 3400. add on small generator spare slicks and three trailer spares it ends up 5500 to 6000. Have a friend that had 2015 vegas on e350 and he pulled an enclosed that probably was over 8000. He had no issue towing.

I am surprised how little towing affects MPG.

I run SUV tires on trailer with correct load rating. That takes away 65 MPH max rating of ST tires.

We were in market for replacement tow vehicle for older 07 Suburban when wife decided an RV would be good. I used to get 12.5 MPG towing with SUV, now get 9 to 11 towing with Vegas. I usually race twice a month so Vegas gets exercised. Wife has also towed to track with it.

Yeah Muggs mine would come in around 6200 (1700 steal trailer + 4500 truck) not to mention tool I would be carrying . I guess my other thought is just having the extra item (trailer) to deal with instead of just finding a truck that is ready to haul 4 down

Even with the Axis pulling one of our cars I haven't had any issues keeping pace with traffic.

Granted the only mountains we've crossed with our campers are the Smokies and not the huge ones out west.

There is a really nasty climb going South on I-75 at the OH/KY border that none of our V-10s have had a problem with.
Only time I could not maintain 50+ was on road going east in Death Valley - a really steep climb and just held it at 35 mph with jeep in tow to keep the engine noise (whine) down. No one behind me for the 7 mile climb so I took it easy. Never had prblem on any normal roads.
