TV Internal cable

Has anyone had issues with the way the RV is wire for TV. I got excellent TV receptions using the “air” antenna but when I connect to the cable the picture goes fuzzy? Is there a component i should check or change out to improve the picture quality? ACE 29.2 2017

Using the antenna the booster MUST BE ON, using cable/satellite the booster must be OFF!

The antenna amplifier must be turned off for cable. On my Vegas if I leave the antenna amp on the TVs won't pick up any cable channels when I scan. Have to turn off the amp and then the TVs will scan cable channels (except for any that are encoded -- my Seikis do not have a QAM tuner; therefore, they will not decode cable signals that are encoded).

I found many of the cable connections loose on our Vegas, especially on the splitter behind the microwave in our Vegas. Even the cables to the TVs were loose. Then the cable connection on the roof to the antenna rusted off after about 2 years. Tight connections will help maximize your available channels.

BTW, my spell checker wants to replace splitter with either splutter, slitter or splatter!

Let it have some fun: it might just liven up the conversation a bunch!

OK, Bob. I'll start a new thread with this. Let's not take this one off topic. We could all use some levity in the new year!

What rectifier would that be?

My ACE 29.2 has a face plate with a small circuit board that has push button for Air or Cable TV. Both cables come to together there and a single coaxial cable going to the splitter for the 3 TV. It also a white and a orange wire attached to the circuit board. Just need to how each cable and wire connects to it.

That's not a rectifier, it's a power injector; it supplies 12 VDC to the amplifier in the TV antenna and passes the cable TV signal to the output when the power button is off. In its basic form, you would have a cable connection, an antenna connection and an output connection. They should be clearly marked. Some have a built-in splitter so they have multiple outputs going to different TVs.

I have 12v power to the injector but no light, think the circuit board is toast? Any suggestions other than buying a new one (about 30.00)
