Vegas/Axis "secret" storage!

I noticed this little area today:

This is looking in the front drivers side storage compartment. Look at the top: You can see clear through to the other compartment on the other side. (You can see the mounting plates for the front two seats--the bolts at the very top.) I'd estimate there is about 3 or 4 inches of clearance in there. Really not much room for anything and it may have a few issues: Probably gets pretty warm in there being behind the engine and above the trans.

Even barring all that I bet there is enough room up there to store a ladder:
7' Double-Sided Rung Ladder - GP Logistics SLD-D7 - Ladders - Camping World
(Not sure if its 87" across though. Thor says the Axis/Vegas is 94" wide but that is further back. This spot is part of the tapered front..does it taper down by 7"?--I could always stick the ladder in at an angle...hmm)

At least I could probably throw my Squeegee in there.

That's where I keep my ladders.

On my ACE 29.3 there is a clear opening. I used this to put a piece of 4" pvc to store my sewer hose.

Or, about three or four folding step ladders. Perhaps some Tiki torches, a three leg Dutch oven stand, a Lantern stand, camera tripods, brooms, mops, brushes, etc.

I'm surprised a salesman didn't emphatically point out that huge "feature". When I was shopping for a motorhome, (regardless of brand or model), they NEVER missed a single opportunity to point out pass-through storage, even if it was only big enough for a broom handle.

Another spot to hide valuables is in the arm supports to the couch in the slide out. The plastic mug holders can be pulled out granting access to all the space inside.
