Water

Our new miramar 35.3 has the awnings over the slideouts, but when we put in our large slide after rain there is a load of water on top. Once we drive we get a load of water all over inside our motorhome. Anyone else have this issue. I dont have a ladder with me or a long enough squeegee to clean it off. Any good suggestions.
Thanks

most would suggest that before you 'pull in' the slides, tilt your coach toward the slide side to allow the water to run off first....

happy travels!

Good Idea TF.

I was going to say to drop your levelers before you bring the slide in but if the coach is almost level that wont do much.

Drill some drain holes inside the slide and put buckets under them? LOL.

(dont do this - just a stupid joke). LOL.

I have a Miramar and have NEVER had this happen. I don't have full body slide but it still should not be an issue. It sounds to me like your wipers on are working properly. Any water on the slide sides or top should be squegeed off by the rubber surrounding the slide. I would suggest calling the dealer and seeking there help on this.

The slide toppers ONLY purpose is to prevent debris from gathering on top the slide and getting caught in the rubber upon retracting the slide...causing the slides to leak. If the rubber seals/wipers are dry and not flipping to remove the water they may need to be lubricated, but this should be a dealer issue on a new motorhome.

I may drill some holes in mine and try that...sounds like some good "white music" if camping too close to the interstate.

What I do it’s when rains hard I will bring my slide in a little bit and you will see the water draining
If I don’t do that and let the water sit it works his way in the couch
It happen one time since I start doing this no mora problems

I drilled the holes and ran tubing through holes I drilled on the outside wall. Works great. We have to watch our heads on all that tubing.
I guess the wipers are not working as they should. We had the slideouts out at home and it rained before we left . Big surprise driving down the road and applying the brakes, small tidal wave from off the the slide onto me.
Thanks for all the input. We need to check them better before bringing them in. JK on the holes and tubing.

Water

I t take a cordless leaf blower up onto roof to blow off leaves an after a lot of rain I also blow water off of toppers so I don't have to stop slide once I start to retract.

What if you just leave your slides out? The water coming off of them should just land in the road...

We have this issue on our 2019 Aria by Thor. We went to Indiana in October and they put new wipers on the slides. This fixed the big slide, but the dining slide still comes in with a lot of water on it. We put two beach towels up on the top when we bring it in. One goes on each end, then when we stop or move the water does not pour on to the driver or the tv on the other end. We are going back to the factory in May to have more repairs and this is on the list. I am sure you could get the wipers replaced at an RV repair shop or mobile service if you are out of warranty.

similar problem with my vegas. I adjusted the patio slide to increase the angle. It drained properly then.
