Question about Surface Proctect Plus Warranty

I got a question on a Survace Protect Plus warranty, our dealer gave us this Warranty for a good price.

Covers paint + fabric + rip & tear

1. Is this Warranty worth it

2. I was told that they spray the outside of the rv for extra protection And not to use soap

How can you tell if the rv outside has been sprayed

Thanks

I will be watching this post carefully. We paid for the paint protection and it appears it was sprayed only about windshield high. Above the windshield we are getting a lot of fading. We were not told not to use soap. I use a cleaner that is supposed to be for RVs and boats.

We had the coating applied to our unit. If you run your hand along the side. The treated part will be slick, the untreated will have a rough texture feel

They hounded me 4 ever about having this procedure done, I finally agreed. Same thing paint protect outside.. interior blah blah blah...When I picked up the coach.
It looked like 2 13 yr old kids waxed it. I refused to pay! and they took it off my invoice. I'll look tomorrow but I think the cost was around $1800.00?

Rev,
I was as dismayed as you when the young man showed up and waxed our Axis. I will say that the front cap became completely dull after the first year and the warranty covered having the entire front end painted so it no longer dulls. I recently filed a claim for the finish dulling on the sides and rear cap. A professional detailer showed up and made the entire exterior shine like glass. Would I purchase the warranty again? A real toss up. Might just be better off having the rig professionally detailed once a year.

Don't know if you all saw my post in another thread about this. I have a clam in on mine also. Above the windshield to the roof line it appears they didn't apply the sealant. The paint in that area is really beginning to fade. The rest of the coach looks very nice. So I guess if they do a good job of applying in the first place it will serve the purpose. I am glad to hear they are standing by the warranty. The price for mine was above $1700. When we did the PDI I asked them if it was treated and they check to find out that it wasn't. They ran it back to the shop then brought it back 30 minutes later so I am not supprised it wasn't applied properly.

Thanks.. you pay a lot of money for these RVS and these extras you pay for is an added cost. So to see rush jobs is not right, we did our PDI in Feb and there was a few broken items which still haven't been fixed, they say the parts have been ordered.. 2 months and counting.

I can't say all but SOME paint and fabric additives are just a warranty scam.the money isn't in the product or the application...its in the warranty. They put scotchguard or similar product on your interior and a wax or paint protector on ext. and hope they never hear from you.if so ...they win.if you file a claim and it costs them less than 1700 or so to fix them they still win. If you are like most and never make a claim or sell or trade...they win.i am not saying the warranties are not worth it but You have to successfully file a claim or claims for them to be worth it.read the fine print.

I checked the small print..

1. Warranty says it covers damaged portions of TREATED surfaces only..
2. The total dollar coverage allowed under the Warranty is $5,000 aggregate.

See I need to make sure ALL the RV was treated.. and paying $1300 to only have $5000 covered seems to be pretty lousy warranty..

I would be very very specific on asking them who is actually doing it, somebody at the dealership or a representative of the Product and Company?? They kept claiming the Product and Company Representatives come out and apply. (Trained professionals with this product) like I said it looked like two 13 year olds waxed my RV....and I refused to pay for it. Good luck! this is a great forum.

I was sold one of those at a great price too. Turns out filling a claim is difficult at best. Rest assured I will never buy another one.
