Windsport 34E coach battery exploded

I have a 2015 Windsport 34E and just found the coach battery with the side blown out. Does anyone have an idea of what might have caused this.

Overcharging by the converter.

I agree. Get both your Alt checked out and the converter to make sure they are not overcharging. Otherwise you will run your new battery right away.

See the current “trickle charge” thread for additional discussion on this issue. It has been my experience that the Thor converter/chargers are junk. The two I have had never went into the “maintenance” mode. Overcharging can boil the batteries and destroy the batteries or even lead to an explosion.
