Windswept 2013 vs Hurricane 2015

Getting ready to purchase our first class A. I have two options at the same price. 2013 Windswept 34F with 5000 miles or a 2015 Hurricane 34E with 33000 miles. Most options are the same. What are the pros and cons for these 2 units?

I assume the 2013 is a Windsport. If so. they were both made in the same factory by the same people on the same production line. At the time these coaches were built at Thor MC plant 750, the plant was using a single serial production line. Plant 750 now uses the more efficient batch production system. The Detroit Chassis (Ford) is the same for both coaches as there were no major changes in the design in those years. MorRide was modifying the chassis the same as they do now for Thor MC. You might check the chassis year as in coach 2013 Thor was still using a lot of surplus 2011 chassis. Generally the chassis was made the year before the house was completed except for the most popular designs.

MorRide spends 8 to 30 man hours modifying the F-53 Detroit Chassis to accept the house built by Thor MC. They weld the mounts for the front and rear caps to the frame. They lengthen the frame and drive shaft if required. The put the extension on the rear of the frame and weld in the hitch. The weld in the hangers for the lower compartments, generator, propane tank, battery compartment, jack compartment and the cushion channels to the top of the frame.

There is an excellent video on You Tube showing how a coach is built by Thor MC.

Well if it wasnt for the low miles on the 2013 I would normally say go with the newest model year. So this is a tuff one. Both units are about equally matched (same chassis and engine, same basic layout and length etc).

Were both stored outside? Are the graphics (Stickers) peeling or fading on either of them? Interiors worn or faded? Everything work perfectly?

Any extras that the owners installed that you like on one of them?

Offer both of them $10K less and see what they say... they might counter offer 5K less... that would be the one I choose. Or do any of them have extra that they can thow in? Cover, Propane grill?

The low miles is not unusual on an RV but somthing to be said for an RV that is regularly used = Most of the bugs are worked out of them?

The generators like to be run once a month so check the hours on both (Less hours is not always good).

Go back and pick both apart for any flaws then offer less $

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Lots of big storms around the South since 2013. Make sure that one didn't float into a great deal. Check underneath REALLY GOOD!! That unit has very unusually low miles but sometimes a great deal just fall in your hands.
