Like and/or Thanks button.

I mentioned this some time ago and got little response. So, being a stubborn old coot, I decided to try again. This forum needs a thanks or like button on each post, so readers can express their appreciation for that post. There are are many times that I find a particular post useful and/or helpful. As it is, I have to make a whole new post, often quoting the original post, to express my appreciation. That causes a lot of clutter. I know I personally like to know if someone finds my post useful. It affects what I am apt to post in the future. I know this capability exists with this forum's software, because I have seen it on many other forums running this same software. Feel free to tell me this is a stupid idea, I have a thick shell. Maybe we also need a "stupid" button.

I've had the same thought about a Like button.

We can certainly chase some rabbits and wind up in weird holes. I saw a wiring diagram that looked interesting so clicked on the link and they are about ten posts talking about how bad Road are???? Some spoke of campfire conversations earlier so I guess that's who we are.

I like your suggestion...I think you need to get the attention of the Forum Administrator...once in a while I see a post from her...but not often...If I find a link directly to her I will let you know...

It allows users to recognize when others appreciate what they post. Therefor in my opinion those who post worthwhile things are more likely to keep on doing it. Just what I think. No research went into it.

Ken.

P.S,. Some of us always assume they post great stuff, so they don't need it.

I recieved this from the Forums support when I asked if they seen this thread:

"Hi Thanks for contacting us. I saw the thread earlier today and have asked our code guru to add a thanks button. It will take a few days but should be coming shortly.

Safe travels"

Unfortunately they did not identify themselves. If you wish to thank them, I suggest using the "contact us" link at the very bottom of the page.

Ken
