Thor Axis 24.1 toilet ball

Not holding water. I cleaned very well.
Will need to replace gasket I guess.
What type of toilet is it? So I get the right parts.

I did ours. Its a pretty easy process.

Didn't you get an inventory sheet when you purchased your unit? (did you get it used? If you did call Thor with your VIN to get the build out/inventory sheet listing all the parts and their serial numbers.)

According to mine its a Aqua Magic Style II, Low, Bone part number 0129181.

FYI - The inventory sheet on both of ours was stuck on the wall of a closet in the bedroom. You might want to look.

Mine would not hold water on the last trip when out town in campground. I did not want to replace the seal while on a trip if I could help it. So, shut the water off and drained it. Clean it good with vinegar, soap an water, then put the gloves on and sprayed it with silicone several times while rubbing it in with a rag. It has been good ever since. The seal was not damaged, but ball and seal had slight mineral deposits where the toilet had dried out and sat a week or two.. I am thinking about using some cooking oil on top of water to keep the evaporation to a min.

Our water has a few minerals in it around here which coat fixtures etc.
If your seal isn't damaged, you can try giving it a good cleaning.

Thanks everyone. I called Thor with my VIN and got the part # and model #. Just ordered gaskets on Amazon 14.00 and will fix this weekend! Alls well . Thanks again .

The instructions with mine said to let the ball “slam” shut. Since we started doing that we have not had a problem with leakage.

I have noticed the same thing if gentle on release it will not hold water. The wife doesn't like the noise of letting it slam shut but when I do it will hold water.[emoji106]

I use silicone grease (Aladdin) used for pool connection gaskets on the rubber seal and it takes care of the problem.

Glad you said that is what the instructions say. I found this out by mistake but was afraid it would damge something letting it snap shut.

Hey!!!! Guess what. I tried some grease on the gasket and it worked!!!! Thanks for the help. I ordered the new gasket anyway to have on hand . Feeling relieved!!!!

Before you replace seal loosen bolts on top half to bottom try aligning the ball and seal better. Even after I replaced my seal I still had to do this to hold water. There was nothing wrong with my seal. Center ball on seal. Worth a try!

We have the same issue. Once in awhile use vaseline around the seals. Also found letting the ball slam. I did destroy the base of the other toilet trying to put the handle back. So sticking with the vaseline until the next yearly visit.

Let it slam shut.... had toilet not holding water and did not like the slam noise. However, one time it decided to hold water, but the valve that allowed limited filling did not close. Not a pretty picture. Over flowed, and drained down heat duct on floor filling heater fire box. Let it slam shut

We recently traded our Class A for a "new to us" DP. The bowl wouldn't hold water. My wife did some research on Google and found the suggestion of using Vaseline to form a seal with the existing rubber seal. We tried that and it has worked ever since. I'm sticking with the Vaseline until it starts to not work, but there are no signs of that in the near future.
