OBD Port Location
I have a 2017 Miramar 35.2 and I am trying to find the OBD port location. Does anyone know where it is?

Look under the dash where your right knee would be

Mine is actually at the base of the steering stalk facing up and out.

Dig around under the dash. Since Thor builds the coach on top of the chassis they have to do something with the OBD-II port.
Given that they usually forget something on just about everyone's coach: On yours they probably forgot to mount the connector--I bet its lying somewhere under the dash not connected to anything (it most likely comes from Ford wired to the connector but bundled up with the wire loom).

Still no luck in finding it. I have looked underneath everything and cannot find the port. Guess I will try calling Thor on Monday. Thanks for ideas.

I actually had the same question. We bought a 2017 Miramar about a month ago and when I asked at orientation the service guy said it's in front with the motor?? Normally I've seen these inside vehicles and actually use mine for my mobile wifi hotspot. Haven't found it yet, lol. Still on the hunt.

By law (its part of the OBD-II spec) it is supposed to be accessible below the dash by the pedals or by the steering column. If it isn't there the vehicle is not to spec.

Good to know, thx. I suspect the guy didn't know but was guessing. That didn't seem right to me when he said it.

I found it !!! If you sit in the driver's you will see that there is a panel cover that wraps around the top part of the steering column. It will be the same color as your dashboard. There are 4 screws that hold the cover in place. Remove the screws and the panel.
Then look on the right side of the steering column. You will see a black box that says OBD. Pop the cover off the box and then you can plug your device in. The OBD device I put in was a little long and I didn't know if the steering column cover I removed would fit but it did. So everything is back in place and it works great.

How is the OBD port used to enable a hotspot?

It is a connection used to attach diagnostic devices to the vehicle.

The ODB port, a blue tooth dongle and program like Torque is a super diagnostic tool. Lets you see every sort of error your vehicle can generate - at least those equipped with some sort of Electronic Control Module. Also will give you data on temps, rpms, speed, etc.

You can also plug in the AT&T Mobley device and you can create Wifi hotspot in your RV.

If you purchase the Mobley device from AT&T they charge $20 per mo for unlimited data. You plug the Mobley device into the OBD port and you can connect up to 5 devices.

I would suspect that the Mobley device only uses the OBD II port for power. There really isn't any reason to connect up the vehicles network to the internet (in fact that is something you really don't want to do!).

You are correct. You can find a USB adapter or an AC adapter for the Mobley device that will also provide power. My main use for the OBD port is for another app that not only displays all of the diagnostic information but also acts a dash cam.
