Poop Hose Storage

I have a 24.1 model

Lets face it, storage for the stinky hose is nobody's top subject matter.

And yet, every RV'er needs to have it done.

I purchased an expandable tube sold on the internet just for this purpose.

No more folding it up to fit inside the basement inside a plastic or cardboard type box. YUCK

This tube comes with flanges for mounting to the under side of the RV.

Presumably to be bolted in a secure fashion.

Sorry, there's no room to hide this item away on my coach.

My solution was to JB Weld two strong magnets to those flanges and the tube now rides on top of my rear bumper.

Because the tube is made from plastic it could be painted to match the color of your own RV.

Yes, the diameter is large enough to fit the stinky elbow, and the tube is expandable in length.

Each end of the tube is removable, not hinged.

Tabs are also in place to place a locking type device to prevent the cap from loosening up during travels.

Because my bumper is now painted black, I left the tube unpainted. Black on black.


CAUTION::::::


When gluing the magnets down make sure they might need to be offset.
The center line of the tube and top face of the bumper may not be inline.
You don't want the magnet to be hanging over air and now you've lost holding power.

Rough up the surface of both items.

Once JB has cured that magnet is on for good.

I trust that the magnets would work great. I do not trust the glue not JB Weld or any other glue to work long term. Yes, use the glue but you need a metal fastener to keep the magnet attached to the tube. The glue might work in warmer climates but in Wisconsin I would worry about the glue to fail from the extrema cold temperature.

I used JB to weld my drivers side outside mirror together after a collision with a deer. Two years later the car died. The mirror survived.


But, I do understand your concerns.

We have no storage compartment on a 24.1. 2014 model year



We have a door to access the valves, everything is open. All air

and nothing but air. It either goes in the basement or ????

If you do a search on the forum there were hundreds of post about sewer hose storage over the years. If I remember correctly there were quite a few on the 2014 thru 2016 Axis/Vegas units.

Been there done that, my nose told me not to do it anymore! Not Poop stink. Having the hose in a sealed container resulted in the worst mill dew order I ever encountered. I installed the expandable Stinky Slinky tube under the back end of the motor home.

My 1996 Tiffin Allegro had room in the wet bay for the Stinky Slinky with good access to put it into the tray under the black and gray tanks. the ACE does not have the access to fit the Stinky Slinky into the wet bay.

I have a 4" x 4" square PVC fence post mounted to my rear bumper on my 2024 Freedom Traveler A32. It hangs off the back side and is (currently) mounted with heavy-duty UV-stabilized zip-ties. ultimately I'll use 2-3 permanently mounted 4x4 post brackets to mount to the bumper.

One end has a permanently mounted post cap, the other end has a screw to hold the cap in place. It is large enough for the elbow and the connectors with caps. I'll try to remember to get a photo or two this weekend It was cheap, is easily accessible, and is effective!

Unfortunately, the frame configuration and compartments don't allow an undercoach mounting. Top of the bumper would interfere with the gas fill and a below bumper mounting interfered with the receiver and trailer light connection. So far it is working well for me.

As promised Photos of my Stinky Slinky storage. On my ACE 30.3 it is located under the large "Trunk" on the left rear of the RV. I added 2" of foam insulation around that compartment to keep that area warmer because I installed my Filter and water softener in that compartment. The foam made a convenient spacer for mounting the dump hose holder tubes. I used 3 1/2" x 1/4" carriage bolts with stop nuts to hold them. One note, there needs to be a non-yielding surface under the tube flange so that the tube is not distorted when the bolts are tightened. Even then the stop nuts were only tightened enough to make contact.

I believe the A32 model can mount the tube(s) in the same way with 2" spacers.

Same problem on my ACE 30.3. However, I was able to mount the Dump hose holder tubes under the left rear storage bay with the addition of 2" of spacer in the form of foam insulation.

I'll look at that more closely. It would look nicer to have the tube somewhere besides exposed on the bumper. Here are photos of my setup:

As nice as your setup looks it would interfere with storing my tow bar.

Actually, my Blue-Ox Alpha II towbar is on the receiver in these photos today. I just didn't show the whole bumper. Here is a photo with the towbar partially folded, before it goes left or right to lock in place. It would definitely interfere with the towbar if the tube was on the bottom of the bumper.

(I apologize for the blurry photo. I took this a few months ago, in the full sun, and I never checked the photo in normal light.)

My roadmaster Nighthawk sits a little closer to the bumper on my unit.

my sewer hose goes inside my Back square bumper...has caps

I used zip ties to hold the hose tube on top of the back bumper.

Purchased a small bin with cover from H D! Works perfect, hose, fittings, rubber gloves in a plastic bag!

Oh yeah! Did I tell you I take caution to fully rinse every a couple time, shake off excess water….
Hence the moral of the story, it’s doesn’t stink!!
