2019 30FE Rear Slide Leaks
Hello, I have a new 2019 30FE purchased August of 2018. We took it on our first trip the end of February and returned mid March. We did get into several rain storms during our trip and at one point had water streaming in on the floor of the coach. After we stopped for the night and still raining we had water running down the outer wall of the rear slide and in our closet getting our clothes wet. When we arrived in Woodstock Ga. contacted Camping World and told them the issues with the water they got me in the very next morning and after setting in their customer waiting room for 8 hours they said they found a couple of areas where they needed to put some sealant. I accepted that and went back to our campsite in Ga. When we got to Florida another rain storm and water was coming in again but this time it was with the slides out. When I did an inspection I did find areas where water was coming in. I got some good ol Gorillia Tape and sealed the areas where the wiper seal and the slide tracks meet and stopped the water from coming in. When we returned to St. Louis I immediately contacted Camping world again and told them the whole story again and what I did to stop the water from entering. They had the camper for two weeks and they said they water tested it and could not find any leaks. I was upset and got drunk ugly with them and took my camper home. While setting in my driveway we had a rain storm and low and behold I had water coming in while the slides was in. Started looking around and could see daylight around portions of the outer seal on the rear slide and water coming in and running down the side of the slide inside the camper. After the rain I extended the slide to inspect the bulb seal and didn't really see anything wrong but I did remove the slide topper and found a large area where the tape the seals the roof and the slide had lifted about 8 inches I re-taped that with 3 inch Eternabond.
Question? Can I put a stick-on bulb seal underneath the original bulb seal and have a double seal that might help?
And by the way the Camping World Team in Woodstock Ga. was exceptional!!
Wish I could say the same for Wentzville Mo.
