Cargo Trailer, Do I need Brakes on the Trailer

I will be getting a Cargo Trailer for my motorcycle (870 Lb Bike) and need to know how Ya'll do it. The breaks on the MH, a 2018 Windsport 29M are sufficient but putting a box behind it worry's me.
What are the pluses of having a duel axle vice a single axle behind a MH?

Most states require independent braking systems on anything above 3,000 lbs gross. A few require brakes if the towed is above 1,500 lbs. Be advised the is no state reciprocity on towing like there is with drivers and car licensing.

Go tandem axles, and brakes!
It'll ride smoother, stop easier, and if you suffer a blow-out: you're not dragging anything (at least not immediately!)
Your bike is worth the extra investment!

I have a 6x10 enclosed trailer I use for various things including a motorcycle, it is single axle with no brakes. When we moved form Texas to NE Indiana (over 1,000 miles) the trailer was full, other than looking in the rear monitor I couldn’t tell it was there.

Pros and cons to both types of trailers. Biggest pro for single axle with no brakes is cost!!! I do carry a spare, jack, and six gallon air tank all mounted inside the trailer.
