Air compressor storage bay

Inspired by some post I saw I set out to set up my air compressor/tool bay.
I decided to do it on the passenger side of our Windsport 35M left of the outside plugs so I wouldn't have to mess with power.

I started out with a harbor freight 100psi compressor and a retractable hose.

I didn't want to make any holes but wanted the compressor and hose to be secure and not bouncing around.

I cut a piece of 3/4 plywood 21.5 inches by 38. I originally cut it at 40 but could not fit the board in.

I also had to cut a piece 8x17 to support the hose case. I screwed the hose case to 2 wedges below some tanks.

That is some inventive work!

I too want to rig one compartment for my "tool shed". Fortunately I'm on air bags so I can plumb an air line to my existing tanks. I also am considering mounting my small drill press, vise, table top belt sander etc. into one of the sliding compartment drawers at some point.

On another vehicle my compressor is(was. It's in a box now. It's easier for me to carry a scuba tank and my ryobi compressor) mounted under the body onto the frame.
But
It's not anywhere near portable and I couldn't set it on the ground, loan it out, or throw it far away if it decided to melt down.
Lots of room under an rv for a mount.

The hose reel is a life changer. It takes a the fight out of using and storing a hose.

I actually screwed down the compresor. It’s a 50ft hose so I figured that I don’t need to take the compressor anywhere.

Update on this: after the first shakedown trip this was extremely handy! However, this particular compressor is very under powered for the job of pumping tires to 80+ lbs.

I will be upgrading the compressor to a 200psi model and I’ll post details later

Consider the Viair RV model. Expensive but small, light and easily handles 100lb plus tires.

I use a 150 psi compressor I bought from Home Depot. I inflate my tires to 90 psi. The compressor starts up when the pressure drops to 120 psi.
