I have a 2017 Thor Axis 25.2 and the angle of the front seat bottoms sucked from the factory. The driver's seat wasn't too bad, but the passenger seat felt like you were being tipped forward. Today I did a cheap and easy fix.

I went to Tractor Supply and bought four 5/16"-18 X 2" long bolts and 4" of 1/4" washers. I painters-taped the washers into four separate one inch bundles, removed the existing seat bolts, put a bundle of washers on each side in the front between the seats and the slide mechanism, and sent the newly purchased bolts through the washers into the seat bottoms. THE SEATS NOW FEEL FANTASTIC!

NOTE: If you are going to do this, I would strongly suggest that you tape up the seat skirts to keep them out of the way as you work, and be careful of sharp metal edges under the seats.

The first of four USB possessed outlets.
One will be a new install where your left knee is when sitting on the can, opposite the one on the outside of that wall(the one the slide covers.)
One replacing over the drivers side bed so there's a USB port on that side of the world.
One next to the passenger on that little far right console to replace the outlet currently there.

All the holes are cut too small due to them using mobile home outlets.
I cut them bigger.
I then cut the backs off of old work type boxes(with the flip prongs) so they fit in the wall.
Multitool, and easy enough. Make life easy and build a template. Use a silver sharpie or you'll not see the cut lines you make.

We took the counter extension off. Didn't like it, would never use it. It was in a great place for monitors and switches... And now it's not.
FYI, that counter extension fits perfectly on the right side of the bathroom sink brackets and all, opening into the shower.
(wife decided she wanted plastic instead of the kitchen shelf, so I used the brackets and a Walmart cutting board. Board has grooves around edges so things can't roll off.)

ducksface...WOW! I think you've won the avionics prize, hands down.

Well conceived and executed, brilliant. First question...how do you convince the trooper you're not watching Mighty Mouse cartoons?

A mini mod of great value (to me)

I turned the hooks on the bed ladder inward 90°.
This allows us to store the ladder under the mattress ssssoooo much better.
The modification gained me about an inch of additional clearance.
#2 Phillips screw heads were as tight as anything on the coach, you'll have to turn hard but about half a turn leaves enough friction for you to manipulate back to the correct position without tools.

Easy.

Urethane body and sway bar bushings, e450

Does anyone know part numbers for urethane sway bar and other underpinning urethane parts?

I did a perfunctory to cursory shot at the interwebs and found nothing. I'll call a manufacturer if I don't get an answer here.

Urethane made a world of difference on my truck, I assume the same for the rv, probably more better betterness due to the torque created by the height.

new dual induction unit vice single

We never use the gas burner on the countertop and had considered replacement with a dual induction for quite a while. So the recent post by Jamie stirred the want to do the job.
Lifted out the single burner unit, removed gas burner---and turn off the propane.
Found the larger dual induction unit (its a drop in) T2B to replace the single burner T1B and the propane burner. (Amazon about $299-True Induction double burner)
It turned out to be a direct replacement, no cutting required. Just center the unit well, and caulk the edge. (there was only 1/16" inch gap on mine easily solved by this method). Cap the burner propane line with a 3/8" flared dead plug.
The single unit is a 1500 watt, the dual unit shares the 1500 watt so no power changes required.
This one was pretty simple.

Would it be possible to show a close-up of the dash guage panel?

The dash monitor is just a cheap 10.1" tablet of your choice running torque and a custom display made by moving the guages I wanted where I wanted.
It's held in place with those removable velcro strips. A 10.1 fits perfectly. I don't think a 12"could squeeze in. To get it to sit purely flush you'll have to clip off the trip reset button on the factory Guage cluster or build some offsets from taped up coins up something if you think the trip reset that only goes to 1000 miles has value(clipped off, it still works. You just need a pen or something to push the button you made from the stem it was...and you can see I have a trip reset for torque right where the factory Ford reset was)

The beauty of it is you can move the guages around so the steering wheel doesn't block anything. With the swipe of a finger I'm viewing secondary guages. With another swipe I'm viewing maps or a camera.

Link below is a picture of the Guage cluster I spent 10 minutes on putting together with torque. As it needs changed, I can change it in about a 15 seconds per Guage. Bigger, different, dial, or just moved. And they overlay and overlap if you like.
http://www.thorforums.com/forums/att...5&d=1569700711

Edit:
A second thought while posting this post:
I imagine a $10 tablet mount from Amazon would allow the screen to mount to the steering column in such a way that the screen would tilt as you tilted the wheel. I see little value in it, but hey, a mod is a mod....

39 dolaarz and we're digital. No one on the forum said anything but how happy they were with digital vs slide switch, so at 39 bucks, I hit it.
Very easy mod, under 15 minutes if you TAKE A PICTURE OF THE WIRING FIRST and do one wire at a time.
I tested the temp reading. I don't think it can be better than this.

Thanks for the reviews.

I'm doing the seat elevation mod right now. So nice of handyman to have posted bolt sizes.

Did the seat tilt mod that is brilliantly posted a bit few posts back.
My drivers seat was always low in the front right corner. I went inside the seat frame on that seat and raised only that front right corner. Feels better now. If not really better, this is a very easy mod and I'll keep trying until it's right.
I raised both sides of the passenger seat equally.
Both of my seats already had conical spacers in front from the factory, just not high enough.

I am a little disappointed with the digital thermostat it has a 3 degree swing for heat or air. Not terrible but wife would like it to be more accurate. Still alot better than the factory unit.

Cheap mod I forgot about until replacing batteries in it today.

The big temp readout is inside the coach temp and humidity.
Then
Freezer temp and humidity
Fridge temp and humidity
Outside temp and humidity.(the outside sensor is either in the passenger side propane quick connect or the TV bin or attached to the fridge vent door. I don't remember but it's in plain sight if I open them up.)
I THINK it might do high and low temp audible alarms.

I think this was $15 at Campers World.

Uncomfy couch bed to comfy sofa bed

I apologize if this has been discussed before but I promise, I did search and could not find a thread for our question. We do not have guests in our Axis 24.1 often but when we do, we sleep on the convertacouch bed thingy with the air mattress that came with the camper. I would like to replace that thingy with a for real sofa bed. Before I get one and make my dear hubby try to retro fit something that will never work, has anyone else replaced their couch with a sofa bed?
Thank you all in advance for your time and suggestions.

Don't overthink the retrofit.
The slide out is just a floor like any other floor. If the sofa fits, it fits.
Measure the width, the depth and make sure it will open all the way without banging the drawers.
If it overhangs(too deep) a bit on the slide floor, that's a very easy self-explanatory fix.

The things you can't beat is:
Width
Opened length.
Height and depth have a fairly large variable.

(we're about to have a couch built in Phoenix. If you don't find what you want alternatives are available to make sure you get what you want.)

Why don't you use the overhead bed? It's just a lateral closet to us, but it's a very good bed solution that doesn't remove from floor space.

And:
Not all 24.1 had airmatresses. Some are jack knifes. If a jack knife will do, I bet you'd get one free for asking here.

Don't worry about the search or no search. We're OK with asking(but we do appreciate the search effort)

And

You need to post that great name of yours in the
You named your coach what!? Thread.

Hi
I just removed a sofa bed from my Thor Hurricane and replaces it with recliners. The sofa bed is in excellent condition. I see you’re also in Florida. Send me a PM if interested.

Thank you for the input, (and I have a difficult time saying this without smiling), "ducksface". You are right of course. The hubby tends to try to avoid future frustration by trying to imagine every possible reason why a plan won't work. We are currently in LA and the camper is in KY so I cannot measure the width of the space we have or the space needed for the opened length of the bed. Based on your response I feel it is possible. Now for the logistics. :-)....and hubby wants to know who is custom building a couch for you, just in case.
