Axxera Turn Signal Mute Disable

I hope this is not old news (searched but didn't see this), but on the Palazzo Owners FB group, a member posted a fix for the dreaded Axxera radio muting every time the turn signal is used.
This is a firmware update for AMV70, AVM72NAV, AVM80, AVM82, AVM111NAV and AVM111NAV systems.
Go to this link for the firmware download and instructions for your model.

MITO Corporation - Mobile Electronics - Firmware
https://mito-oem.com/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=10

I just did it to my AVM111NAV and it worked perfectly - no more mute on turn signal!
For my model, I had to pull the unit out of the dash to access the USB port, which you plug the USB flash drive with the firmware update (downloaded on your computer, "un-zipped", and copied to the flashdrive).

Going on our next trip tomorrow and looking forward to the lack of interpretations to our tunes!

I believe the firmware update has been discussed in several threads but apparently didn't work for everyone that tried it.

Can't wait to try. Only problem is my rig came with a 111NAV that had a broken screen. Waiting for the dealer to get back. The new unit was delivered to them a month ago according to Thor.

What is the procedure once you have flash drive plugged in?

Thanks

The official instructions I got From the Axxera website. It did work.

1. Preparation
1) Download the matching firmware file for your stereo model and save it to your computers
desktop. The files are zip-compressed and you will need to unzip it onto your PC.
2) Copy the dvdrom.bin file to a blank USB flash drive.

2. Update
1) Power stereo on.
2) Insert USB flash drive into USB port of Axxera stereo.
3) Touch the Green checkmark icon to begin update.
Warning: Do not disrupt power during update process.
The stereo will automatically turn off when update is complete.

4) When stereo turns off the update is complete. Remove USB flash drive

Well my USB doesn’t work. I tried different USB memory sticks and the unit say No USB Device Found when you touch the USB Icon.

Are you putting it in the usb port on the radio (pull open the little plastic cover on the left side)? Not the usb port below the radio.

BYoshida, I was using the one on the cable. I didn’t know there was a hidden USB. Will try that. Thanks!

My software loaded quickly once the USB was plugged into the front panel.

Turns out they installed an AVM211NAV which already let the sound come through when using the turn signals.

There is a brief pause when it goes back to the normal radio screen though.

Does this update also eliminate having to put the rear view camera back on after signaling a turn? To me that is more annoying than muting the radio

Yes, or at least it's supposed to. It did on mine but different units may not have the same result.

Yes, if you were in rear view mode before signalling, it will return to that afterwards (or at least it does on mine)
