Best Dash bins for Vegas/Axis/all Thor class A. $12

Thor Forums - View Single Post - I want to start a new thread about nothing, and let it run...

This is the best we could find for the expansive plain of dash the spousal unit and I call 'the county'.

Easy, inexpensive, indispensable, indestructible, easily removed while loaded, fun. Happy happy. It is the handiest(and first) mod we've done.

Details and pictures and how to in the link above.

Tangent, how was wiring up all the cameras with the Android unit? Did you make a switch to turn on the reverse camera on demand?

Sorry maybe off topic. My 18. 24.1 has a video switcher under the dash panel (above wheel), has anyone used that with a Android head unit?

The rear view cam is always on. It's the left most monitor on the ceiling (for now) in the picture.
I used the Thor camera controller(it's under the removable panel above the instrument pod).
To get power and signal to/from the overhead, it's a wad of loomed wires that look and act like the wires that go from the drop down bed to the overdoor tv, except they go from the drop down bed to behind the drivers seat and through the side console with the mirror controls.

A great thing happened and a not too great thing.
The delay in the side cameras went away by switching monitors, but like TimmyB, my passenger side cameras is a bit off now and needs adjusted.

We tried doing a signal split to the new radio, but the quality was poor and I really didn't have a reason to do have the camera on the radio. A quick switch of one plug on the controller will send the signal to any of the monitors. The inputs for the radio and the two monitors are laying right next to the controller. Two half twist nuts on the dash, and switching a plug on the controller and signal will be on any monitor.

It plugs right in just like any other video input you'd apply to an android radio.
That's an android 9.0 in the picture in the link. It worked fine, I just wanted the monitor overhead as a camera so I could use the android to better advantage.
The controller does everything and has just a single, standard 'video out' jack.

I've added 12v power, a USB bank and have a little 200w inverter that's about to go into this.
No reason other than I can
But
It will keep some seldom used things like USB flashlights charged without cords draped everywhere.
