Simple (portable) inverter installation for us newbies! Specific to Vegas/Axis

Based on the recommendations of others, I decided to NOT install a huge inverter until I need one. Instead, I picked up a cheap ($40-ish) inverter that will allow us to run a fan, a tv, etc. Not wanting it to take up any of my wife's cabinet space, I found that it would fit perfectly in the wasted space between the side cabinet and the rear cabinet in our 24.1.

The 12V cigarette plug is in the upper cabinet, all the way to the right, up against the driver's side wall. I drilled a hole through the cheap board that is between this cabinet and the side cabinet above the driver's side bed (completely hidden from view), which allowed me to pass the cables through from the plug to the inverter. After that, I simply put two screws into the base of the side cabinet to hold the inverter in place. I also put some serious Velcro on the back of the inverter, just to keep it in place a little better and to not stress these two screws as much.

Overall, it turned out really nice and it works great. Now, if we are in a place without SP, or can't run our generator, and we want to watch TV or have a fan on, we can quite easily. This is a nice way to test out what our needs are before putting in a much bigger investment AND potentially screwing up my electrical system big time!

Very nice.... Should work perfectly for what you have in mind.

I was going to install like a 600 watt inverter behind the kitchen sink on the wall. But it was the same price of this Aims 1200 inverter ($149 last year - so I pulled the trigger).....I hard wired into the OEM system. But it was much more involved.

I like your setup. Clean and simple.

Thanks. That's all I wanted for my entry into this. If we discover it's not enough, we'll adjust. And, ask LOTS more questions!

Interesting, on our older model Axis the rear cabinets wrap around, there is no space between them like that.

Nice job.

Thanks. I wonder why they changed?

Huh, both of you show "2019 24.1"... You would think they would be the same.

Pehaps one is an early 2019 model and the other a late model 2019? Just goes to show no two RV's are exactly the same. They just slap them together and make it fit most of the time.

Yeah nothing in my profile says 2019.

Prior model years (before about 2017/2018 I think) didn't have the Euro styling. They had the dark cherry look.

(This was back when it was brand new--took the pic right after we brought it home from the dealer. Hence the tag and all the Styrofoam from the vents on the beds.)

Oh, I must have scrolled down to far when I was looking at the profiles and looked at "TimmyB's" TWICE.... sorry about that.
