Cut Up Fresh Water Hose

Yes-I did it on purpose and into 3 pieces.

Was over on another RV Mode Site where a guy posted his idea of cutting his 25 FT fresh water hose into one 5 FT length and two 10 FT lengths.

Having camped with my GF in her Little Guy teardrop travel trailer I recall having to step around, over and/or trip thru excess water hose when we were right next to the water outlet. (Will not go into language issues here.)

Took under $10.00 and about 30 minutes to make the cuts and install the new couplings. Now I can, using various lengths, use only enough hose of 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25 feet to connect to the fresh water outlet.

It curls up nice and neat to fit in an ottman I have under the passenger compartment. Other things in the ottman include water regulator and thief, sewage hook ups, and electrical adapters and surge protectors.

And the ottman is very handy for use as a extra outdoor seat.

I've never had any problems curling up excess hose next to the faucet.

Nothing wrong with cutting up the drinking water hoses, but I wouldn't store any sewer related items with drinking water items!!! Yuk!

Yuk from me too, too! Sewer hookups (adaptor ends) are in resealable plastic bags. They are thoroughly cleaned and dried BEFORE putting into the bags.

I use the CordPro XL with a 25ft hose. Only unwind what I need and leave the rest under the RV in the cordpro. Nice neat and tidy. Stores nicely.

gauthig, great idea using cordpro. did not realize it would hold a hose. Question, do you find that the hose kinks at all? TIA

I put in a good non-kink hose and the unit holds al of it. The key is the internal divider, one section of the hose is wound shorter and in a different direct as the other side. The shorter one stays by the RV so the CordPro XL can stay right at or underneath you RV.

Never had a kink, but again I think that is based on what hose you use. I actually found a good price hose at Lowes that was non-kink and drinking water safe.

Nice job Master Chief! This makes perfect sense to me...I think I will give it a try. Fair winds and following seas shipmate.
