Direct box

I bought a new Venetian 40A. It comes with a satellite dish. Do I need to add a direct TV "box" to make it work? If so how do you hook it up?
Thanks Bruce

You'll need to call Direct TV, don't know what kind of Rv plans are available now. You will need a satellite box whic will hook to coax from dish and then to your system. The connections for your system should be in the same cabinet where your dish coax comes in.

Don't know what kind of dish you have, but if its HD, you will probably also need to run HDMI from the direct box to each TV. I added a satellite HD dish, and had to have those HDMI cables run to all three sets.

What we did was add the receiver(s) to our existing Directv account. $7@month gives us the same package we have at the house.

We have Dish, that said we dumped cable and put dish in the stick and brick, the 2 additional tv's for the coach are considered extra bedrooms, about $7 additional charge.

For the past few years we have had RVs with permanent mounted direct-TV dishes. We haven't paid anything extra on our direct-TV bill. We just take one of our boxes from the sticknbrick and put it in the RV when traveling. We never call direct-TV and change anything. We use antenna for local channels.
