Dog House Insulation in Outlaw

2014 Outlaw and my intent was to put insulation under the doghouse to reduce engine noise and heat... my problem comes with trying to lift off the dog house...

I remove the four floor screws and the thing will not budge...i am assuming i am missing some screws but for the life of me i cannot find any...

Any outlaw owners that have insight?

Thanks!

I have a Hurricane but about to do the same thing. Have not tried to remove the dog house. I see the 4 screws you are taking about. Looks like that should do it. You can call Thor.

If its anything like our Axis doghouse after removing the screws you have to gently pry it away as its held on with some foam tape.

Yep, my Hurricane dog house has self-sealing urethane tape around the perimeter. It had to be pried off.

Hmmm... Although that makes sense per the behavior, but what of the tape sealing it? will it need to be replaced was I pry up the dog house or will it be fine to go back on?

I would want to have all i need to complete the job beforehand...

Thanks!

My tape was fine to reuse.

try little pry bar but dont force it. I think mine had 6 scews holding it. 2 on the floor and the rest on the firewall? Seems like some were hard to get too.

But your is a Class C so it may differ.

The tape came off in sections. It did not adhere to the dog house very well. It came off easily with a putty knife.

So you took off the old stuff before you put the new on? I was going to put the sound barrier over the old and the heat barrier over that.

That would depend how well the old stuff is stuck and how dirty it is. In my case it was in hood shape so I put a new layer over the old, cleaning it with acetone first. The only thing I replaced was the tape.

Ok great. The MH is pretty new. Never been in the rain so I should be fine. I will check what is there to make sure. I got some 3M spray glue just Incase

I added sound barrier and heat barrier to my dog house today. Took a few hours but that’s a skill set issue.
