Question E450 Doghouse insulation

We have a Thor Quantum WS31 on the Ford E450 Chassis. The doghouse gets quite hot while driving. I have seen numerous threads about people putting insulation in the doghouse. When I took ours off, I note that it is fully insulated and there does not look to be room to add anything additional as the rocker covers almost touch as it is is. What am I not seeing or understanding here?

On the Thor Plant 750 F-53 coaches there is typically 1.25 inches clearance between the intake manifold and Thor's insulation. Most sound deading/ high temp insulation is 1/8 to 3/16 inches thick. As long as there is 1/2" clearance there is enough circulation to prevent problems. So I would think one or two layers would be fine. If course your coach is somewhat different.
