Extra sewer hose storage under rear

Put the 4 inch PVC pipe sewer storage on the rear chassis yesterday. Drilled holes on the top and bottom for drainage and air circulation - did not have these when it was on old class C and the hot summer sun grew many nasty's between weekend trips.

FYI!!!

Spent 30 minutes yesterday with a tube of clear silicone weatherproofing every hatch and fridge / heater panels. Thor did not spend much time or silicone on these areas!

And the gaps in the entry door trim / seal were huge!

Nice location for the hose.

When I was trying to come up with an idea for mounting my rock guard/skirt, I had thought of repositioning the sewer hose (as it ended up, I repositioned the skirt so I could keep the rear bumper for the sewer hose).

It's hard to tell, but do you have to go under the RV to retrieve the hose, or does it stick out to the side far enough you can get to it?

I thought that if I put such a holder on my RV, I would add a hatch to the side of the rig; like one of these:

But I ended up scrapping that idea as I could not find a suitable spot to transition the PVC to the sidewall.

But I didn't have any problem considering using a sawzall on my RV...

I still may come up with something, as I would like to carry a short 5ft hose for pump out duty (or perhaps just replace my hose with 2 5ft'ers), and I wanted to wait until the hydraulic jacks were installed so I would not interfere with potential mounting locations.

But now that is done, I can revisit this idea.

Hey, I like that! How long is it, and what did you use to attach it?

RV, (and Marine), Manufacturers do not use silicone on any exterior locations. It's not protected for exposure to UV, (sunlight), it's absorbed by composite surfaces making them difficult to paint, (if necessary at some point), and it eventually shrinks and peels.

Manufacturer's use polyurethane based UV protected sealant/caulking for the exterior, (if they even bother to use anything other than sealant tape for hatches, access panel, and window installations).

Dicor, 3M, or Sikaflex are popular brands.

It is approx. 3.5 feet long. It is used to store the extra (Rhino) sewer hose that I will use when the distance requires I use two hoses.

It was 8 feet long prior when installed on my class C, but then I stored two hoses in it.

I have to go under the back of the coach to access it, but could access it from the side in the old 32 foot class C.

It is attached with 180 degree / half circle galvanized clamps that I purchased at Menards in the electrical section.

Oh and Beacher, it WAS clear silicone!

For my rear sewer hose storage I used a plastic fence post from Home Depot. To cap the ends I just used a bolt which leaves both ends open for it to dry out.
(More details on my mod can be found in the Axis/Vegas mods thread: http://www.thorforums.com/forums/f27...-3-go-820.html )

I like the idea for the hatch to access the underside storage. In my case I can reach the storage spot from the side by reaching under the "skirt".

Thor uses Geocel 2300 for outside areas. It is flexible and non-permanent.
