First major project day

New (4 months) 2018 Hurricane 29M (50amp)

After gleaning a LOT of info on this site I spent the day yesterday on some mods:
- CHF (front and back).
- Pulled shower access pannel and added an extra floor support.
- Checked for RAP's (rodent access points) underneath. Surprised how well sealed it all was.
- Tied up a few wire harnesses that were a bit loose or low.
- Cleaned up the crap under the benches and bed.
- Checked the genny plastic junction box (cover was missing and still need to check the connections)

Overall, given some of the stories I have seen here, I was expecting much worse.

I'm schedule for a visit to Safe-T Plus to have a steering stabilizer installed next week.

I have a couple of questions.

- There is an access pannel in the bathroom cabinet that according to the schematic is a 'No Fuss Flush'. Have not opened it yet. What is it for? How is it different from the black tank flush in the sewer bay, which I think is called the same thing.

- Can't seem to find the bypass for the fresh water tank. (Found it for the hot water). Planning to blow for winter through the city fill so do I really need to bypass the tank?

- Confirmed what plugs run off the inverter. (3 TV'S, the plug in the passenger workstation and the USB plugs in the bedroom window bay). Don't really need 3 TV'S when off the grid. Is there an easy way to change this to other plugs? (betting it's not easy)

- There are a few components under the bed that I'm not totally sure what they are (Pics attached). Can anyone ID?

Thanks all.

I dont know your questions but i can ID the pics.

1st is a solenoid. probably used for the use/store function based of the yellow control wires. Or could be the solenoid that connects coach and chassis batteries together (the emergency start button on the dash controls this.)

2nd is your "rapid camp" receiver/controller.

3rd are some relays most likely used for the "rapid camp" unit. mine has the ignition lockout relay (disables remote use with ignition power on by removing power to the unit) and the generator start/stop isolation relays. (relays act the same as pressing the button on the generator.)

Even if you blow out the lines you still want to find the tank valves to empty the fresh water tank.

I think you will like the Safe-T Plus steering stabilizer. I had mine installed two weeks ago. Where in Ga are you from, I'm from the SE corner, Brunswick.

I have located the drain valve for the fresh water tank. I was thinking there was also a bypass like there is with the hot water tank (which I have found).

Typically there is a shutoff between the tank and the pump so you can draw antifreeze from a bottle (along with the valve is a port for the antifreeze).

Where in GA? During the week we are in Marietta. Weekends we are in the north GA mountains (between Clarksville and Helen) which is where we typically park the rig.

Thanks for the info.

I was thinking these plugs were the bottom end of the pre-installed solar wiring.

There is a fresh water bypass valve on the pump under the dinette seat. That valve allows you to pull from an alternate supply (ie jugs of pink antifreeze). The alternate port is there but the necessary hose/fitting is not provided.

Even though I've got no help for your questions...
I think that you've already got a GREAT start on getting your rig all sorted-out!
Congratulations, and the best of luck to you in your future projects!

In our 2018 29M, the wiring for the solar panel is an orange and a white wire that are just laying under the bed (they where not terminated in any way) in that same area where you took the pictures.

Another mystery solved! Maybe I'll label them... by the time I decide to add some solar I will have forgotten all about this post :-)

Thanks!

Agreed. And undersized, only 10ga wire. Same as our Axis. I'm not sure what the idea was re: a controller but the bed isn't near my batteries. But it looks good in the marketing to say it's prewired for solar.

You don’t need to “bypass” the fresh water tank. With the valve set to “winterize” the pump pulls from the antifreeze jug and pushes it thru the pipes. It does nothing to the tank.

Behind the panel for the No flush is the check valve which sometimes goes bad and leaks..
