Challenger Induction Cooktop added
In the last 3 years we've used our propane range/oven very little - it simply produced to much heat. Got the idea to remove the range/oven and install an induction cooktop. Finished it out today. I believe it will be of a great deal of use. Thanks to the RV Interior Ideas Group over on Facebook.

Looks great BigBen! We purchased a portable induction cooktop burner and use it in our Challenger rather than use propane. Your modification looks fantastice! It is great upgrade they have added to the 2018 model.

I'd love to do that on our Axis. We don't have the oven so it would mean simply replacing the burners.
Looks good.

Challenger Induction Cooktop added
That looks great. I don’t have an oven in mine, but the convection oven/microwave. I can’t convince my wife to get induction in the RV which is back asswards because she always uses it at home.

The cooktop is about $300 and use 110 VAC. Ought to make our considerably easier.

We like our propane stove but have looked at several new models with induction cooktops. Since we boondock a lot, I wonder about the usage of the induction cooktop on battery (inverter) power vs. the propane consumption. I would love to hear pros and cons from any who have some experience.

Yep - took out the copper line, plugged it and then tested for leak. One of the easier parts of the job.

John - we have boondocked 2.5 months out of 3 each winter for the last 4 years in Key West. In that time we didn't once use the propane combo - it just made the coach to hot. We'd use the Coleman outside grill, the microwave/convection oven or electric skillet. We run our on-board generator each morning to run our coffee maker, toaster and/or electric skillet. We felt the amount of heat generated simply made the coach to hot and had us running our AC to counter it. The remainder of the year (we spend 8-9 months each year living in our coach) we spend in full hook ups. Easy call for us.
