We never use the cup holders in the center console, Myra and I each have one beside our seats. After I installed the doghouse insulation I put the cup holder/tray assemble back in place but I kept think of ways to have a better tray in the center, plus I'm always kicking the tray portion getting in and out. Today I removed the tray (only has three screws under the rubber mat holding it on).
I used the tray as a pattern and cut a piece of heavy rubber shelf liner I had left over to fit. I used several small pieces of double sided carpet tape to hold it in place. I think I'm going to like not having the cup holders and having a nice big flat tray instead.

We removed the doghouse tray also. Replaced it with a rubbermaid organizer that works so far. Organizer holds stuff that I will eventually put in a side "shelf/pocket" similar to what Jerry and Dave have on theirs, once I make/buy one. Also plan on working with wife to put a side pocket/shelf/cupholder on her side, but it has to be one she can work with.

To really utilize all the features of the Torque Pro app, I felt I needed a 10 inch tablet. I have currently have three pages of gauges and features, and will probably add another. What you can view will be a little different between vehicles because it will basically display whatever data is available at your OBDII port. For the most part, the newer the vehicle, the more the data. I did not want the tablet up in the driving line of vision. So I bought this magnetic mount and mounted it so the tablet is between AC vents and easy to flip between pages. I am adding a link to the mount. It only came loose once on a very rough road. I am going to add a couple of small supports on the bottom corners. I had more problems with the suction cup on the dash. It will not adhere to the textured dash. I ended up using a screw into the dash. The system works great for me.

I would also like to add one more mod I did. I don’t think it has been listed on this thread. Being an electronic tech, I was annoyed by the stock battery indicator that just offered the 4 lights showing how much charge is left. I installed this battery meter. The link is below. For under $20 and fairly easy to install, it shows actually voltage and power being consumed. By adding a DPDT switch, it will also show charging current. That is what the small red switch is in the photo. I have really liked it.

I think I'm going to try the 7" first and see how I like it, if I don't I'll move to the 10".

Substitute meter for motor and shunt for power supply.

29 M Overhead Bunk Problem

I took delivery yesterday of a new 2018 Windsport 29M from Motor Home Specialist in Alvarado Tx. Spent the night at their lot which allowed for a thorough inspection. There were a few minor issues ( charging station wired backwards) which were immediately fixed. Purchasing experience was very pleasant.
I had never driven a Motor Home before except for a 15 min test drive the day of the purchase. Wife followed me the 80 miles home and I made it without incident.Really enjoy the home and am looking forward to “seeing America”.
Today took the grand kids to see the home and dropped the overhead bunk. They were real excited ( 4 and 8 year old) and thought the overhead bunk was great.
As we were leaving the bunk would not retract. Turned the key on the controller back and forth, turned truck motor on and off, tried to push up on the bed while wife pushed the retraction button …but nothing. Called service department at Dealer and they said there was a control box in the cabinet by the Driver side. Found the box and there was a window in the box where you could put an ball point pen and push it 6 times and hold it on the seventh time until some lights come on to reset the controller.Tried this but no lights came on.
I then checked to see if all the wires going into the controller were secure. At that time I discovered that the J7 Red Power input wire and the J8 Ground input wire ( see picture) were barely connected. Apparently the wire to plug in the power and wire was not long enough to connect to the Controller and only the tips of the connectors were touching.Service tech recommended unscrewing controller and moving it an inch to the left. It worked to move the controller and I was able to securely connect the power and ground and retract the bed.
If anyone has overhead bed issues you may want to check the controller connections.
Otherwise looking forward to my new home away from home.

The red/black wire powers the device. The green/yellow wires do the current sensing. The switch reverses the green/yellow wires so you measure current in the opposite direction (charging). Check the link below for a diagram. Ignore the top about the solar charger. There is virtually no power involved, so a small light duty switch works fine.

Welcome to the 29M family!!! Have a great time with your new MH and come back here often. There are a lot of good ideas floating around here and you will always find a helping hand or two with the members.

We bought our Windsport 29M from MHSRV and loved our experience too. Well done!!

Set up my OBD monitor this morning. I tried using a mini iPad but decided to go with my old 10" because of being able to see the display better. I have the iPad on the left side of the dash now, not sure if that's where I will permanently keep it. I haven't done the setup of the dashboards yet but what I do have is pretty cool! There is a tutorial I still need to watch but the Texas sun was starting to get hot!

Dino thanks for prompting me to get this, looks like it's going to be a LOT more fun to play with than the Scan Gauge!

Are you using Android or IPhone? Which app are you going to use? The app I have up is for iOS called Dash Command.
