LED replacement

I'd like to get some LED bulbs for my indoor lights that aren't so freakin bright!
Where to I get them ?

Google led lights, there are numerous suppliers, Amazon sells them too. You need to know what type of base your bulbs have.

Look for lights listed as 'warm white' to not be as harsh a white...
LEDs should be rated OVER 12v ( most of mine are 12-24v) to not be pushed too bright or hot.... Remember our 12v systems can easily put out near 14v.
And of course match the base needed.

I was able to replace everything except the bulb inside the microwave....
The 110v hood light under microwave, all the interior bulbs, and porch light.

I'm going to try an LED dimmer should I get my Axis back from CW. They are pricey, around $45, but shop around. I couldn't find a lower wattage lamp for the ceiling LED dots.

Bulbs

Yea, I was wondering if I'd be able to tone them down but if I cant't then maybe I'll make a cover for them.
We hardly ever use the over head lights anyway.

I tried a layer of blue masking tape over one at the bed, LOL. Not exactly mood lighting.

Very creative! My wife puts gaffers tape over the radio light in the back bedroom... we have the twin beds and it glares right at her . Guess we could sleep the other direction! Ha!

You can program dim the radio light or have it off very simple to do. Been talked about many places on the Forum.

Not only is the dimmer pricey, but not all LEDs are dimmable...
I could not find readily available dimmable bulbs when I replaced mine...

I did install some LED strip dimmable indirect lighting which we use much more than the overheads.

There are led dimmers that don't vary voltage, they pulse off and on at rapid rates, the flicker is not noticeable until you get to lower settings. I think Amazon has them.

Solved problem. Took all the discs off except two reading lights in bedroom and painted them with Krylon sea glass semi translucent frosted finish! Viola! 4 coats and now the perfect lighting.

we installed a rocker switch for the Jensen radio. Better than tape!

Jimbo,
Now that you've got the "Mood Lighting" all set: when are you putting in the wine rack?

I replaced all my interior lights with LEDs that I bought on eBay. As others have said, warm white LEDs are about the same color as Incandescent bulbs. Look around on eBay, find what you think may be right for you and buy a couple. Once you find what you like, buy enough for your RV. Be aware that LED are polarity sensitive. If it doesn't work, reverse the wires.

I bought basic LED lights, nothing fancy, no protection against high voltage etc. They have been working for many years. I would avoid panels unless the surface you are attaching them to is absolutely flat. bending then may affect the contact between the LED and the base.

The lights over the bed were WAY to bright. I had some static cling window film left over from another project, removed the discs, cut a piece of film to fit under the disc and now the lights don’t glare. Cut another piece to fit over the radio face.

Have to try that for the under cabinet lights over dinette and couch.

Gotta tune the Jenson radio for the mood music too.
