maintenance and mods
I have 2014 Vegas. I like to change the oil myself. The main problem is putting new oil back into the engine without removing the doghouse. I rig up a makeshift funnel and tube assembly which is a pain. I recall the Econolines all had an extension oil filler tube which made this process much easier. What is the best approach in securing an extension oil filler tube? I will need a valve cover oil cap that will accept the tube assembly.

Have you tried using something like this.
Robot Check
I found one at O'Reilly (local store) that fits quart and gallon bottles.

These are very nice and even work for filling your axles with 90wt.

Thanx for the info, guys. That pump should work fine. However, I am looking for a more permanent solution, such as the long filler tube that all the Econolines had. It came right to the front and made it very easy to refill the crankcase with oil. Gonna check with Ford parts. The tube is probably 50 bucks.

They have installed them in the 2016s. Maybe you can get Thor to send you one.

ONeil...your 2016 has a filler tube for oil ? Our 2016, Ron says, is back to the side of the battery...not easy accessibility ... he was thinking of using the pump
...is he missing something ? Or...do we have another situation where we were robbed !!!

At least I can see and reach the cover and put a funnel in it. It is so much better than the 2014 Vegas, where I could not see and could just reach the cap with my finger tips. And yes, that is a filler tube and it has to be over 6" long. I wish they had used one a little longer, but at least this is possible.

I also use an EZ Oil Valve...got rid of the oil pan plug. Never had a problem.

I use a Mr Sunshine Funnel Stretcher to get the oil back to the fill pipe on my Vegas. I taped a 1/2 inch hose, a funnel, and a 1/2 inch elbow together. The hose I used was actually conduit. Found it all in my meager collection of odds and ends. It requires a helper to hold the funnel while I pour in the oil. Might add a short pipe to the elbow, to extend farther down the fill pipe, and glue it all together. It is a simple, quick fix!
