Master Upgrade and Mod Thread - 24F 24FE Four Winds - Chateau - Freedom Elite
Figured I would start a thread of upgrades for these awesome class C motorhomes. There is also a facebook group we all share our upgrades as well. If you have a 24 and have done anything to it that could help others go ahead and post up.
My first upgrade, swivel front seats. I was asked a bunch about these on this forum and facebook.
Purchased from sportsmobile: https://www.sportsmobilestore.com/fo...vel-seat-base/
Easy to install. 20 minutes and a beer per seat. 2 bolts and 6 nuts. Reroute airbag wire and you're done.
Seats lock only in forward position, must open side doors to swivel seats.
So awesome to be able to add 2 more seating areas in the 24F or just having the option to not sit at the dinette.

Next small upgrade which I have no pics of is the piss poor audio volume out of the front TV. I ran a 3.5mm audio cable from the TV through the wire loom into the cabinet where the DVD player is, placed my rechargeable bluetooth speaker in there which has a 3.5mm input. Now I have amazing sound and didn't have to spend a dime since I already had the bluetooth speaker and cable.
Also did the floor mats, photo attached. Perfect fit and I guess the only floor mats which actually fit the 2017+ E350 cab.
At first I thought about a bluetooth transmitter to the coach speakers, then thought of buying the Bose soundbar at costco, but for the little amount of TV we actually watch I figured this was the best solution. $30 magicbox 2 on Amazon is quite the powerhouse speaker for the price.
Next mod will be next week and I can post pics, airlift 5000 airbags with the wireless controller. Half of our camping is in the desert and we tow our flatbed with desert cars out. (Came from a duramax dually with lance camper) Airbags will arrive next week so hopefully pics by next weekend. Towing and airbags are pretty much a must in my opinion.
Plus the airbags help in windy roads, whooped out trails to keep the plumbing out of the dirt, and leveling side to side when parked. Had airbags on the duramax dually and they were clutch and allowed much better handling all around.
They definitely help in reducing the body roll of a top heavy vehicle.

new updates
Yesterday I installed a Hellwig rear 1 1/2 inch sway bar on our 2018 four winds 24f. I'm glad I had some help getting it in place. Today I installed a passenger swivel seat base from Sportsmobile store. It fits perfect. I drilled a one inch hole in the base and pulled the seat belt wire thru it so it would not have to be disconnected to swivel the seat. The seat turns around very easy. May do the drivers side except the steering wheel would interfere with leaning the seat back. Last week I installed a 1.2 cu.ft. Contoure convection/microwave and removed the standard microwave. We have no gas oven so needed an oven occasionally. .Other updates I have done include Sumosprings front and rear.I also installed a Safety Plus steering stabilizer when I bought the 24f.

I use the same wire but I plug it into the input on the Dash Radio, You then can use all 4 Coach speakers or fade to front or back only.

Definitely an option. Thought about it but I tend to lean toward more permanent solutions and where I dont have wires ran. The wire I have ran now runs through the existing loom from TV to cabinet so everything is clean and speaker stays fixed in cabinet.
I thought about blue tooth transmitter from TV to coach stereo but they tend to be sub par and lag a little bit behind what you are watching on TV so I nixed it.

We don't use our front bunk, but it is an extra wire hanging.
I used to use a FM Transmitter (Not Bluetooth) they work good but I got tired of replacing batteries

Not sure about bathroom van. I read they were small for a reason. Larger fan cab suck up blacktank odors. True?

Wow! Love the swivel chairs. I could only do my passenger seat because my dinette bench is right behind the driver seat in my 24fe.

Then your Dinette is a slide out? Only slide out on mine which is a 22FE is the bedroom. Dinette seat back support is just inches away from my drivers seat and I'm planning on a winter project on the Mod Sutzy10 did which looks great IMO and for me more functional floor and kitchen space. Have to take a look 1st though as can't remember what's under that side of dinette seat and should be able to relocate the small drawer. Never ending projects just like a boat.

Not worried about it, if it sucks any black tank it would only be as you're flushing. The rest of the time, air will take the path of least resistance, and the gap under the bathroom door will be plenty.
Biggest reason for it, is getting the bathroom and shower dry fast after a shower or whatnot.
Plus it's already wired there so why not.

Got the Xantrex controller mounted today. Will get some pics.
Thing is awesome with the auto transfer from charge to invert and back based on feed, cant wait to give it a whirl.

Added a propane fitting for bbq and 5 gallon bottle if needed. $50 on amazon. Pretty nice to not have to take green bottles anymore.

I have found getting my rv tank lap serviced is a pain. I would rather use the greenies. 🤪

Changed TV & mount, added led fog lights
I changed the front TV to a 28 inch Roku tv with RV locking swing arm. The original rattled badly. I also installed led fog lights. The replacement acc. switches from Mercedes are about $50. Auto zone had this switch for $5. fit perfect.
