Passenger Swivel Chair

I understand there is a way to make the passenger seat swivel in the Ford E-450. Has anyone made that modification?

I have a C Class on the E450 and would love to know if there is a way to do it. BTW, you didn't mention your model?

Doesn't Thor do it?

Some of newer Class C floorplans have both seats swivel back to expand living area. I would do my van's passenger seat if van wasn't so old.

I've seen aftermarket swivel bases that can be added, but you have to be careful with wiring harness used for air bag. And obviously, the floorplan has to provide clearance to rotate seat.

You didn't state whether you were talking of a class c, or class a (AXIS/VEGAS)

There is a lever on the AXIS/VEGAS that allows the swiveling of the seats.

And Thor offers swivel seats on some Class Cs, so that may be a good place to start. I'd give them a call. Comparing pictures it looks like it should be an easy upgrade as long as seat isn't bigger so it won't rotate -- and I doubt that's the case.

Here's a YouTube video on the installation.

I have a 2017 Quantum GR22. I think a swivel chair would help make up for the absence of a sofa.

My husband made a new plate for the swivel seat that was bolted to the existing plate. He moved the seat a few inches over to the center and back as far as it could go so that it butted up against the step up. It has plenty of swivel space and adds more foot space. I use a half empty child's bean bag for my feet. It helps with feet heat and makes it more comfortable for my short legs.

The same question was posted today in the Motorhome discussion forum. Here is my reply from there. My Four Winds came with both seats that swivel. I believe it is an "Atwood Swivel pedestal"(Google this) It also came with cushions which match the seats, that you place on the seats that bring you further off of the floor for more comfortable seating. They are a standard item on the Four Winds or Chateau 31Y model if you want to see them at your local dealer. I believe they are on one of the Quantum models also.

We have fe22. The 1/4" steel base was created to fit on the existing base, and the new bolt positions allowed the seat to fit back 3 inches and toward the center so the armrest fit with the swivel action.

I really love the ability to swing toward the back so I can put my feet up on a foot rest.

I did both the driver's and passenger's seats on our E350 Freedom Elite 24HE last week. It's a piece of cake.

We have a 24F that opens up for both driver and passenger seats to swivel. Sportmobile sells the bases as either a set (d&p) or just the passenger. Easy install, but it took several attempts to secure the air bag wires without it binding in any position but can be done. We love this upgrade.
