Porch Light Replacement

TecNiq Inc: D30 Load Ramp Light I bought one of these LED porch lights from this company after seeing an article about it in Motorhome Magazine. Used it during Memorial Day weekend and I have to say that it is amazing. It lights up the whole side of the coach and directs the light downward rather than out. Very happy with it.

I wanted to do that too, but was afraid there would be residual discoloration or marks left from the old fixture on the wall that would show. The old fixture is much taller than this new one?

Did you have any trouble with that?

Very little discoloration left over, can barely make it out. Update.... Turned it on right before our last trip a few weeks ago and it "burned out".... I'll let you know what happens with the lifetime warranty.

TecNiq Inc. out of Michigan was called by me last week and told that the light (D-30) failed. I received a new one today with their lifetime warranty. Don't have a clue what happened to the old one but of course, replacing it was a bit of a pain. Very short lengths of the wire coming out of the exterior wall and the fear that I might have to ditch the whole thing caused me to use the "posi-lock" butt connectors instead of the crimp type. Finding the room inside the skin of the wall to push them in and half of the pig-tail that came on the light itself was a bit of a task too. Made the exterior hole a bit larger and then scraped out some of the styrofoam insulation to make the room for the wire. Now, we will see how long this replacement lasts. Still an awesome light if it continues to work. I will try to get a picture soon.

Good that they took care of you. I really like M4 Products for LED stuff, and I'll probably be going with their version of a similar flood. They have 13" and 5" versions.
