Install winch in garage outlaw 37ls
3500# winch install,
i use the ourtlaw garage as cargo area for hauling heavy convention display carts, to heavy to push up a ramp, so a winch is required. This also could be used for loading bikes and atv’s.
Installing a winch in a outlaw 37ls is not very hard,
a steel plate needed to used as a mounting for the winch as the wooden floor would not survive the torque applied. The steel plate was bolted to frame structure of the coach. As shown in photo #1 5/8 thread rod was passed through the wood floor and a flat steel bar used to clamp the the coach frame.
The whinch is model superwinch terra-35 , the height of the winch is less then the step up into the living area of the coach, this keeps it below the bottom of the door.and out of the footpath.
It is powered by a 12 volt motorcycle battery 285 amp, small but powerful, a custom battery box was built with space for the battery and control circuitry, the dedicated battery will allow for the brief but very high electrical load when pulling a load up the ramp.
Charging battery will be done by a small charger plugged into a nearby 110 volt outlet, the battery box does not interfere with the trap door over the back steps.
The control is a hand held with a 33 foot cord, so i can easily be all the way out of the garage when needed. ( control not show). This 33 foot was adapted over from another model of winch. It plugs into a control port located on the side of the battery box.
