My set-up may be a little unique in that I run four cameras (front, rear, and both sides) through a mobile DVR (CrimeStopper CDR525) and record all four any time the ignition is on. From there the output goes to a 10" monitor (from Rear View Safety) with a custom bracket on the dash with the usual switching triggers for the turn signals and the rear camera as the default so I can watch the toad ...

The side cameras I moved from the mirrors (didn't like the image or the angle) to the coach body, and changed the mirror arms to include side markers / turn signals ...

It's a great place for it. My Super C came with that setup and I love it. It's just like looking into a rear view mirror. Should be a factory standard item on all coaches. It also serves as the backup camera and you never have to look down.

Thanks The Gritz Carlton! I'm partial to it, but then I built it the way I wanted it ...

Have fun!

That looks smaller than a 21". Are you certain about the size?

I drive a 2002 Five Winds Five Thousand (Class C) and currently have a single camera facing straight back. I like the idea of having more cameras, or a wide angle camera for more coverage. I'd probably have to mount the monitor on the dash though.

That looks like a great solution.

Sorry for the confusion BKF, but I'm not the one who posted about a 21" monitor. The one I use and have included pictures of is 10" and that works fine for me ...

In my case all of the cameras run through the mobile dvr, but assuming you aren't using one they would go to the monitor (most have at least three inputs) and the monitor would do the switching when the turn signals are activated. The wiring is straightforward picking up the turn signal triggers and power sources ...

That's like saying your insurance won't cover you because you caused the accident.
They have, they can and they will, if you have illegally modified your vehicle, that affects its safety and that modification, is deemed to have contributed to, caused, or made avoiding an accident impossible. Insurance companies have successfully claimed fraud, and prevailed, as they contractually insure a vehicle as designed, with known safety factors which have been changed without notifying them of their increased risk. You are correct, they can not deny a claim because of stupidity.

Ok I dense. I would buy a monitor and it would plug into the rear of the radio? And mount on top of the dash, how did you run the wires? That would bypass the radio image right? Am I making this harder than it is, lol

The monitor and the camera inputs would all be separate from the radio ... Your three cameras would be connected directly to the monitor ...

Ok I wouldn't have a clue how to do that but I love the idea. How do you find the camera lead wires

I don't know your equipment, but on most they're plugged into the radio chassis. If you have a manual for your radio, they'll be referenced in there or they should be ...

Well crazy me I ordered a larger monitor and tried to install it, works but right mirror camera won't come on using the blinker and worst of all when I put the ACE in reverse everything goes out. What have I done?

Thanks

Well, my crystal ball is a little foggy so maybe you could tell us what you have done to connect this new monitor?

All you had to do was take the RCA input to the radio and either redirect it to the new monitor or split it so both the radio and the monitor had the same signal the radio originally had.

So did you remove the "splinter" box and route the camera inputs directly to the new monitor? What did you do with the trigger wires?

What monitor did you get?

Yes I did tried to match trigger wires to wires on back of monitor which came from rearview safety, not all the wires were the same color. Do I need trigger wires would be happy to just have cameras on all the time
