Residential refrigerator ran on inverter

Has anyone found a transfer switch that can manually switch the power to the refrigerator from the inverter to shore power?
Just trying to save the inverter-it only runs the refrigerator.
We have a Thor Freedom Traveler.

I have two of these. One for the fridge and one for the other outlets I wanted powered.

If your knowledge of electricity is a few steps beyond basic and want to save a couple of $$, the switch is actually a double pole, double throw relay with contacts rated for 120VAC 15 amps and a 120 VAC coils. The relay is energized by shore power so you could just leave the inverter on and anytime shore or generator power is turned off the inverter automatically takes on the load. Install in the circuit after the breaker panel.

Many of the larger inverters come with built-in transfer switches. Have you confirmed that yours doesn’t already have one? I know it’s not what you asked, I don’t mean to question you. It’s just hard to imagine that they would add an inverter without a transfer switch.

...many smaller coaches with dedicated 'fridge' inverters are simple inverters with no 'automated' transfer relay/switch... they are not designed to run in-line with shore power, but to ALWAYS power the fridge, whether on Shore POwer or not....

the Shore POwer, when available, will allow your CONVERTER to continue to charge the batteries as the Inverter powers the fridge, so no worries - let the Inverter do it's job.

Thanks everyone
I think I’ll leave things as they are and see how much we use the inverter.
Saved the information from Sweetbriar for the future.

DCW -- unless you are boondocking, there is no need to run the refrig off the inverter. If you are hooked to shore power that is providing AC current so run the refrig off that. The inverter is used when powering the AC refrig off DC batteries. The inverter changes 12 VDC to 120 VAC. So if you have AC coming in from the park pedestal there is no need to be using the inverter to power the refrig.

As it was explained to me...
Our Refrigerator is a 3-Way design; but it actually only runs off of two of them!
Propane
AC power
DC power

When you have it running on DC power: it is really using the converter to "transmogrify" the batteries' 12 volt power; into AC, and running on that...

What the heck does THAT mean?

Bob -- that was my point. According to the info they gave you -- hooked to shore power, AC comes into the converter, converted to DC, DC goes to inverter, converted to AC to run refrig. My question to them would be, "Why not run it off the AC coming in on shore power and turn off the inverter?" I do not believe constanly runn ing the inverter is going to extend it's operational life,

Why not just plug the inverter and converter together, and let them battle to the Death?
