I purchased a Garmin RV660LMT this summer and it works great. There are frequent updates available. It does not take as long to update as my smaller older Garmin did. You do need a USB connection to a PC though to do that.

The 660LMT replaces the 760 model. The 660 is a six inch screen and the 760 is a seven inch display. There were some smaller differences too. I thought I would go with the newer model

I use the Good Sam Rand RVND 7735. One time it said to turn left thru some little town and then back to the Freeway basically a U turn, instead of turning right, where the freeway entrance was just 3 blocks away. Don't know what happened there. Maybe they helped pay for the Mapping who knows! Need to turn off the speed warning or bump it up because that can get annoying on a long trip.

Love my 760. It has not steered me wrong yet, while my Soul has sent me down several dead ends. The only one I like better is my Tom Tom Rider for my motorcycle. Very intuitive and easy to use. Better directions than anything else.

Thanks for the report, I just order a 760 From Amazon. I like the idea of the 7 inch screen.

A few years ago I started to use CoPilot on my GPS enabled tablet, and I am very happy with it. So far, I used it for the last 30k miles, and it was always very accurate. And it is cheap (if you have a GPS enabled tablet, the standard version is only about $10 for life!), and it is updated constantly (not only every quarter or once a year like most stand alone GPS). The standard version can be set to either RV or car.
There is no need to buy an expensive stand alone GPS anymore! Another good (and low cost) GPS program is Here, but that cannot be set specifically for RV's

I concur with Hudsoner - I use CoPilot for RV on my iPad and iPhone. Although there are some shortfalls (it doesn't take into account some diesel pusher profiles, etc.) it does handle my gas Class A profile just fine.

Hmmm... quick look in the Android app store has a $59.99 price... They have a 14 day trial version for trucks - but not that I see for RV.

Just look for the CoPilot standard version. It is for free without voice guidance, to get that you upgrade to premium. Inside of Premium you can decide if you want guidance for RV or not. If you go RV, you can input the vehicle parameters.
They have a special RV version, but that is mainly made for Europe, and a waste of money in the US. If you have one of those big DP's you need to buy the truck version, because of size and weight of the DP.

Thanks... its got a 7 day trial for the voice - so I'll wait till I'm about to leave on a trip... I know the route for this next trip - so not worried about the RV specifics for that one - just give me a chance to see how it works before upgrading...

I think that you can select RV in the setup, once you have voice. Take a look in the main menu, it is done there (or also in Setup)>

When I had mine new, I ran it in parallel to my car TomTom. The TomTom would have gotten me into roads that would have been a challenge for the motorhome. CoPilot kept me on the roads I could manage.

I've been wanting to try the copilot RV thing, but that price, along with some less than great reviews had be shy of it....

I didn't know this about the free version. I'll take a look.

Hello Google, are you listening? I know you are scanning these pages....when are you going to add this functionality to your native navigation tools?

I downloaded the free version last night.
Now I just have to remember to try it out while I'm driving around in my daily driver to see how it works....

Only two choices for height, under RV set-up
doesn't give any options for weight, width, etc....
just some speed profiles (how fast on interstates, how fast on primary roads, etc...)

Do any of you know if the paid RV app gives more detail option regarding weights and so on?

(Hello google, are you listening?)

One of the main reasons that I love the Garmin RV 760 is that I have it mounted on the plastic cowl above the speedometer. Since the Garmin shows speed, I never have to take my eyes off the road to look down at the speedometer.

In the paid RV version, there is a section for RV Routing Profiles where you can plug in the RV dimensions for height, width and length as well as total weight. (These are free text fields.) You can add multiple profiles, depending on your configuration.

Almost all motorhomes have about the same width (about 8 feet). I assume that CoPilot takes this as a parameter in its consideration, because I never ever had a problem with it.
I know that several big diesel pusher owners (the 40 and more feet long rigs) did not like the RV version but decided to go with the truck version that seems to have almost limit less possibilities to set it to a specific vehicle.

Confused. Is copilot an app or device?
