Could/may void roof warranty but if you do breach roof, use plenty 3M 5200 which is a Marine sealant that I've used on a couple larger sailboats I've owned and sailed in some very rough sea conditions with no issues. A must:, apply correctly and let cure correctly. If not , will fail at some point.

I would not seal the vent covers, they will hold water, you'll need to clean under them when they are full of dirt & dead bugs, & most instructions indicate do not seal. If you've bought the cheapo covers at Wal-Mart I don't know that even have instructions, but the better quality will have instructions & will mount to the vent housing not the roof.

It's funny but it's always the guys in the other outfits who "had the life". I was in the Artillery and the guys in the Infantry always said we "had the life". I didn't. Both outfits sucked.

Ha ha, I hear ya. In this case, my neighbor in the apartments we lived in was Red Horse. I was an SP. he seemed to be home all the time, mostly waxing and working on his GTO (a real beauty). So I asked, he explained they all reported for duty Monday morning, assignments were given out, and he was on call at home most of the week. He had a 4-hour duty assignment one other day. Seriously. So yeah, he had the life!
