Second AC

Hello all, I would like to add a AC to our 2018 Thor Chateau 31Y and I would like to know if anyone has added 1 to their RV and how hard is it to pull the wire through the styrofoam insulation. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated .

Thank You
Ed

Look for this post just a few below. We have been talking this there today.
I'm about to do this as well.
Good Luck.

Try this first before you buy 2nd AC unit or bring your unit in for AC service.

I had a second AC added to our Gemini. The one it came with in back was working fine, but in hot weather with the sun beating down on it, there was no way it could keep up with that greenhouse heat generated in the cab area, plus the rest of the RV. The second AC solves that problem quite nicely. I had it done by the dealer, about all I can tell you is all the wiring is out of sight. I had a second digital thermostat mounted in the front living area that controls the front AC. Power to it is via a second 30 amp plug, mounted next to the existing one, I use a Y connector from both 30 amp outlets to a single 50 amp cable, plugged into the parks 50 amp service. It all works seamlessly.

on my 29m there is a channel in the ceiling to run the wires. To get the wires to the floor you have to run them through an interior wall. Can't go in an exterior wall. Some ran the wires outside the wall and covered them with "channel hide a wire"
