Security systems

What do you use? Primarily interested in seeing around my rig without the need to opening a shade.

Well you mean security monitors.... I have seen a few posting on this in the past. Some have added an extra montor screen (on the dash) that uses the 3 OEM camera (L,R and Rear camera) and added a 4th the front. And wired it so you can turn off the engine but keep the cameras on.

Others have added extra camera and used cell phone/tablets to montior.

I been toying with the idea of adding a Ring door bell camera to my rig. But thats just the one side of the RV.

I'm not quite that paranoid...
I just keep a shotgun, and a pair of handguns nearby!

Why does it have to go immediately to them living in a state of paranoia??? Do you lock your cars, RV, doors at night? Do you have an alarm system on your house or security system at home? Do you live in a gated community? Do you ever look around and practice situational awareness?? If someone feels better with cameras, shotguns, dogs, the wife's biscuits you can throw...who cares as long as they sleep well at night.

I have two of these very portable 4 camera systems with small 7" monitors. Works very well when leaving the unit alone for some time as in race weekend where I leave coach in sparsely populated area. They also work well in campgrounds, parking lots or anywhere you wish. I'm not paranoid...I'm just a step ahead of the bad guy. It's like the little "peep hole" we grew up with, but you live in it...not look through it where there may be an ice pick waiting on you. Most times the sight of the camera alone will keep some moving along. It's also interesting to see what your pets actually do while you're away. Someone is always watching everything you do!

Paranoid lately? Big brother always watching you? LOL.

Heck...For all we know we are all in a big snow globe and some alien (or god) is holding it watching us all.

I think your doctor has over-prescribed something.

I've figured out a FANTASTIC way to keep the criminals out of your RV...

Buy yourself one of those eight hour "Sex Sounds" DVDs...
(No video: just the sounds.)
When you leave: pop it into the DVD player, and set the volume so that it can just be heard by anyone in your campsite...
(No need to excite the neighbors!)
When you return to your rig: you might find that someone has smoked a pack of cigarettes, and left you a congratulatory note, with a five-dollar bill wrapped around it!

But NOBODY will be brave enough to open the door!

Thanks. Was trying avoid having something stick out. Wasn’t sure if anything on the market more conducive to a vehicle.

I am in love with this SimpliSafe Wireless RV Security System. It was so easy to set up. Literally took less than 30 minutes to get everything set up and installed, it will begin to protect my rig without any issues. It can offer an impressive 1000 ft of protection. This protection will consist of several impressive features: a 95-decibel siren, entry sensors, a motion sensor, yard sign, etc.

I’d have no issues spending a little more money for this system’s level of protection. This system would ensure you always have a sense of safety during your trips. Honestly, there’s a lot of worse ways to spend your savings.
