I have a glass enclosure on the Challenger and when properly locked in the closed position it does not rattle when travelling. If it did the sound would have to carry past the rattling pots and pans in the kitchen drawers. I had a glass door on the prior class c and the shower door was about the only thing that did not rattle. On that coach the issue was with the refrigerator doors and not the glass shower door.

Gotcha !! Thanks for clearing that up !!
and...I agree...seems like everything wants to rattle in the cabinets...
I liked the hint a week or so ago, about using bubble wrap to cushion everything in the cabinets !!

Kay,

We got a couple of cheap blow-up beach balls and use one in the cabinet over the sink where all the plates and cups are stored. Very little rattleing. Other is back in the back with all the Pots and Pans, not sure about the rattleing but they all stay in place.

Squid,

Technical difficulties aside, my DW wants to know what length shower curtain and where did you get it. On a more technical note: at what distance from the ceiling did you mount the curtain rod?

FWIW: When I post a picture I go to "Go Advanced" just below this reply box. Then I select the paperclip icon, a box pops up on the upper left of the screen and it asks Choose file. Then it takes you to your computer and you select the picture to send...it then does it's thing and let it upload the file, you then drag it to the reply and "tada".

**it is clear that the bracket on the left is approx 2 1/4 -2 1/2 " from cabinet and
the bracket on the right is approx. 3" from the right cabinet.
This, sort of, looks like a typical Thor install !!! perhaps not 'rocket science' !!

Kay: Your bottom picture shows exactly why I don't see the curved rod as a viable solution for me. Yours shows the bracket out about 4" from the side of the cabinet. On my 2015 Vegas 25.1 the existing track for the curtain is mounted to the ceiling about 3/4" from the cabinet. I don't see where I gain any additional "space" from having the curved rod. And actually the curve of the rod would be right up against the cabinet side preventing the curtain from sliding down the rod for the whole length of the side of the curtain.

We are looking at the glass enclosure so that loose material isn't "sucked" into the shower area so that it clings to us when we shower. We are "small" enough so that the shower space is adequate (just barely). It is the curtain clinging to us that is the annoyance. We figure the glass enclosure would cure that.

On the rattling noise -- it would have to rattle like loose coconuts in a box car to be heard above the roar of the engine and tire road noise.

Thanks Ed for your comments !
Doc had requested the measurements as he is installing the ARC in his coach.
Attaching an additional photo showing the clearance of the curtain/rod and cabinet, etc. .. Personallyl, unless the install is determined by the curve of the ARC ... I think it could have been moved closer to the cabinet on the right. But, it is what it is and Ron is not messing with it !!

I understand your preference on the install and you are correct...what with all the road/travel noise, a glass enclosure should not be an issue..and as DSTANKOV added...they have no probelm with theirs. So, I was definately incorrect.

We have not used our shower yet, as we have only been out one night .. 3 times .. so far ... we will put it to the test the end of May. I may be screaming about that sticky shower curtain at that time...and I will glady post my findings !! pro or con !! ha !

I am, truly, looking forward to seeing what you decide on..in regard to the glass enclosure !

Happy weekend !

Kay, thanks for the pictures and measurements. Next step will be getting the curtain.

Ed, I just went out and "hand placed" my ARC in the shower stall (mine is a polished Aluminum bar that requires pressure to flex it into position on the walls). You do loose a little space in the corners but the bow gives some 6 inches beyound the exiting track in the middle of the ARC. What I will do is install the new ARC leaving the old track in place. That will give one a better indication of the area gained by the install.

PS The mounts are still MIA, but on the way.

Squid,

Time is not a problem. Between your pictures and Ron/Kay's pictures I will be sure to get them mounted correctly. AND I have been assured that the mounts were sent...from two different sources; however, my mounts are still MIA!!

You have a different shower curtain! I am going to be an expert at Shower Rods and Curtains once I complete this MOD.

Thanks to all.

Kay,

I gave up waiting on Thor to reply to my request for help with the hole in the storage bay holding the VIdeo/playstation hookup for the outside TV...so I went with the Black Gorrilla Duct Tape for now. Tell Ron thanks for the idea.

Now back to our orginal broadcast...okay, looks like Squid's curtain rod has two mounting screws and VKB's has three. Can't wait to see what I get when the brackets arrive.
