Wait your Vegas doesn't have the "fake marble"?

It isn't marble, its plastic.

Nope, I got "fake grayish brown speckled stuff".

In the attachement you can see the 120 voltage meter, a wire leading to a small space heater that does a great job and saves the propane when on shore power and a really great white wine for those camping evenings (goes really good with freshly caught grilled trout).

I am in the process of staining the the 18" round pine I found at Lowes. I routed a groove to allow the cover to straddle the sink's lip.

Doc
Hey Doc ! Yes,that is the Whisper Dune interior of the 2016 Axis 24.1
The counter top is not real marble,.. looks good and goes well with the floor covering.

We stained our round with MinWax..and plan to rub in a vegetable grade oil .. will research that before doing so.
How did the routing go ? Show n tell when you get it finished !

Interesting place for the 120v meter. Why do you have one? I put a 12v meter in the top cabinet above the sink to monitor my coach batteries, but I have never thought about installing a 120v meter. My surge protector shuts the system down automatically if there is a problem with shore power and I can read the voltage off of that. Do you use it when you run your generator to check the voltage? We got the faux marble with the light wood in our 2016 Axis and like it a lot better than the interior of our 2014 Vegas. Much better quality all around. Ditto on the shower liner and real shower controls. Just looks like a better quality coach.

Stove Top Cover

Ref all the sink covers, I purchased this cutting board with a rubber pad on the back that fits on the stove. I removed the stove cover that my wife hated and the board gives her a lot more room to make lunch. If you want to use the stove, it fits over the sink. She uses the sink a lot more than she uses the stove. I have offered to make a sink cover too, but she thinks that the two of them would just get in the way. I put the board behind the couch to travel. Supposedly it does not move when you drive, but I don't feel comfortable with potential flying objects. I have thought about shortening the flip down counter. It is a pain to get around and out the door, so we almost never use it. If I shortened it about 1/3, I think it might be more useable.

Oneil,

I have the meter there all the time as it allows a quick glance check of power when coming in, or going out and while driving (with generator on). Yes it is mainly for the generator operations (I have a surge protector for campsite protection), but even at the campsite it is reassuring to see that "all is well" with the incoming power (amazing the range that power runs during the course of a day).

It also works as a nice little nite light over the steps during camping and those late nite trips outdoors for the dogs. Between it and the motion detector light on the outside no need to turn on (and then remember to turn off) any lights for a doggy potty break!

Did you get that cutting board at Bed, Bath and Beyound?

oneilkeys...The cutting board you have on your stove...is that the one sold by CWorld?
We bought one last year as our previous ToyHauler did not have a stove cover.
I know what your wife is thinking regarding the sink cover...I am used to having one and like having it available when using the stove...I will stow the square and round boards behind couch when not in use...probably in a cloth bag.
In addition...I mis-spoke when I said I stained with MinWax ..
Stains are not food safe, in addition to olive oil, etc. Oils get rancid.
Food Safe mineral oil is recommended ... nut oil is tricky as many folks are allergic to nuts .. go to cuttingboard.com/blog for all info regarding safe use of cleaning products and oils on cutting boards K

I bought the board on Amazon. It comes with a thin plastic cutting board so you don't scratch up the wood. Seems to work great.

Axis sink cover update

Well folks...the pine round from Home Depot for $5.50 leaves something to be desired (you get what you pay for) ... however, it does serve the purpose and will get dinged up anyway !
I purchased Howard Cutting Board Oil (food grade mineral oil) at Menards 12oz..$6 (WalMart has Snow River ..an 8oz bottle which must be ordered for around $4)
...having sanded the round well, I followed instructions for oil application.
Ron attached the rubber bumpers on the underside to keep it place.

ID:	1479sink cover..another option...
we have the large cutting board, which covers the range top, in addition to the round we made for the sink.
Today, I moved the square over the sink to see how it looks...it is doable..in either location ! Since this square (which we bought at CWorld) has the nonslip backing..it will work over the sink, if needed. When not in use, will be stowed behind sofa.
Today, Ron, is modifying his hitch mounted motorcycle rack to fit the Axis.

We did the same thing during our camping trip this weekend. The cutting board worked well either on the stove or the sink. There is not really room for two at the same time. I removed the stove cover, the board looks much better in its place.
