Someone made a really nice one by modifying a lazy susan.

I used a 16" bamboo lazy susan from Bed Bath and Beyond and found it will warp if you drip any water on it. Since then I've mounted a short metal brace underneath to prevent that.

We bought an 18" round, unfinished, wooden tabletop at home depot. added 1x1 to bottom to keep it on sink hole. stained and sealed it. looks and works great.

This is a lazy Susan 16" from Target that looks like it might be a cheap fix. The sink is 16 1/4 so it should just fit. I have not purchased it because I bought a cutting board to replace the top of the stove and my wife thinks that two boards would get in the way of each other. But I am keeping it in reserve.

All, I was walking thru Lowes Hardware earlier this week and found this:

Stain Kiln-Dried Elliotis Pine Round (Common: 1-1/4-in x 18-in x 18-in; Actual: 1-in x 18-in x 18-in)

Item #: 1016 | Model #: L5RND174418S
18 Inch and 12 inch covers.jpg

$10.43 each

I plan to rout out a groove on the bottom side that is diameter 13 7/8" inside with 16 1/2" outside diameter so that it will sit over the lip of the sink. I picked out a Minwax Polyshade American Chestnut that is a close match for the color.

I will post this Mod once it warms up enough to work in my shop outside.

Hugh,

I have an old AF buddy that does cabinet work here in town. He has all the needed woodworking tools and will show me how to rout out the cover...I have never routed a circle! It may be harder than it sounds.

I don't have an Axis but I found the manufacturers sticker on the bottom of the sink and went to their website. They sold plastic cutting board type covers in the color of the sink.

Crap. I can't remember the manufacturer off the top of my head and I won't be around the RV for another two weeks. There was a sticker on the bottom of the sink that had the manufacturers name on it and I just googled them. They had covers specifically for my sink which has two different size tubs.

Today, we found a 17 3/4" pine round for $5.48 at HOME DEPOT in unfinished wood section.
We are attaching 4 rubber bumpers on the bottom side, where the interior edge of the sink is, to keep it in place.

VKB,

I like that marble counter top. Is that standard in th Axis 24.1?

I am in the process of staining the the 18" round pine I found at Lowes. I routed a groove to allow the cover to straddle the sink's lip.
