Sirius/XM Antenna

I have a Mandalay Coach (now Thor I guess) and want to add a Sirius/XM module to my factory Jensen "Satellite ready" radio. Sirius says the magnetic antenna must be attached to a metal surface because the "entire car" becomes part of the antenna system. My Motorhome has a fiberglass roof, so am looking for answers as to what antenna system/receiver module people of using successfully. I'm hooked on satellite radio and really don't want to travel without it anymore. Thanks for all your input

We used silicone and attached it to our tv antenna on the roof. Our TV antenna is stationary. Works great. Highest point on MH

Same here, went to local RV repair shop. They drilled hole in fiberglass cap, sealed it, then mounted a 4x 6 (approx) metal plate. That metal plate was affixed to the roof with an epoxy sealant. Next he epoxied the antenna to the plate. They fished the cord down the forward passenger side post and ran the antenna wire to the dash where my XM module is located. Works great!

I got a small plate of steel and wood trim and glued it inside the upper dash cabinet. Wood trim around it, so I slipped mag antenna so it attaches down facing and top of antenna towards sky through the fiberglass cap.

Tried dash but no ground plane and if satellite is behind the coach, my signal would fade out.
