Has anyone on here done that?
Do you have heating ducts coming through you sofa?

There is only 1 heating duct grill. It's not on the slide but on the floor right behind drivers seat.

Tri-Fold Sofa

We installed the tri-fold sofa from camping world in our ACE 30.1 yesterday.

A bit of turning to get it in the door, but overall we are very pleased. The trickiest part was removing the left arm of the old jack knife sofa. It had three long wood screws into it from inside the trim that is under the small shelf behind the driver's seat. I mangled the trim because I did not have the right tools with me when I opened it up. I should be able to reattach the trim and clean it up with some small wood screws.

We did not attach the four wooden "feet" to each corner of the bottom of the couch. Not using the feet makes things pretty level from head to foot with the sofa on the raised slide out and the fold out legs of the bed on the main floor.

I will add some L brackets to the inside of the base of the sofa to attach the sofa frame to the floor of the slide out.

Sofa - Thor ACE

For the people that replaced their jacknife sofa with the tri fold sofa from Camping can you tell me if you can still use the seatbelts with it?

Thanks

Caroline

Hey there Caroline, this is a very late response to your question, but I just installed a tri-fold sofa (from Wayfarer) into our ACE 29.1 last night. I can confirm for you that I was indeed able feed the seat-belts through the sofa for use, like on the jack-knife sofa. I noticed that since the tri-fold cushions are much thicker than the old jack-knife, you end up with less available length/slack in them. I will probably look into getting longer belts. They work great for our kids, but are a little snug on the adults.

Cheers!

I don't know if they have any stores in your area.
Great suggestion. I just may have found a replacement for my current sofa bed. Thanks

Replacing Sofa

I have a ACE 29.3 2015. The sofa is so uncomfortable and the first time we used it the bar bent so the sofa sinks in the middle. I am looking at adding the sofa from Thomas payne collection. It has a left side, middle console and the right side. Camping world has it in their catalog but the Camping world near me says that they don't sale Thor's so they are not sure if it will fit.

In my motor home the heating vent/hose lays under the sofa and they are two round vents cut in the bottom of the sofa on each side. I am wondering if they can run the hose through the console piece and put a vent there. Looks like it would work. Just don't want to order, pay for it and have it delivered just to find out that it won't work.

Has anyone had experience with this?

I'm a bit late to the thread, but we changed out the couch in our 2017 ACE 30.1 last spring. Best upgrade we've done (other than perhaps the absolutely necessary suspension upgrades).

We replaced the couch with a pair of RecPro recliners with a center section. We replaced the rubber facing with a 2x3 strip of wood and painted it to match the cabinets (took a drawer to Home Depot and they matched it). I drilled a couple of holes in the frame and tied them down with the bolts that came off the frame of the couch. The picture showing the new wood was pre-paint.

Extremely comfortable. We had the grandkids (and parents) camping with us last year in RMNP and mom and dad slept on the recliners, with the kids lined up on the overhead bunk.

The space on my slide is 69". I bought the 67" RecPro wall lugger recliner loveseat. The loveseat is meant to sit on the floor, so on the 1.5" high slide floor, it is a little tall for my 5'3" DW but she loves it. It fits my 5'10" frame fine. I installed the front of the loveseat flush with the slide floor and had to remove the wall shelf behind the old sofa to get the full recline.
