Solar panel to keep refrig running

After losing frozen foods twice, we finally put in a solar panel and a better battery. So far it keeps it running even on cloudy days. We keep the RV loaded so we can jump in and take off whenever to opportunity comes along.Click image for larger version

About what was the cost? Can you give more details about solar panel? Did you do the install or who did it for you? Thanks in advance.

You guys have a Propane Refer from your picture of your RV. When dry camping do you not run it off of propane?

Just curious.

When we are staying with family in New Orleans we park the RV at a different location without plugging it in 2 power.
The battery ran down and the frig was off. We didn't go check on it every day, so we ended up with soggy food. We put in a better battery and it holds the charge. Even cloudy days make enough charge.

Regardless if running fridge on propane or shore power, 12 volts are required to power the control board of the fridge, same as your water heater.
