Sound proofing the engine ACE

What is the best product to cover the engine that sits between the driver and passenger? I think I read here that you can coat that well with something to make it less hot and quiet.

You have to remove the doghouse and cover the underside. We did that on our Axis with this:
Fatmat Hood liner

It has been a while since you did this. How has it worked out for you? Thanks.

The fatmat is still in there and I put some additional fatmat under the dash--where I could reach in from the front; including plugging the holes at the bottom of the A-Pillars.

It did make a noticeable difference...its still loud but we can have a conversation without yelling.
