Spare tire carrier for 18K lb Class A chassis?

Anyone come across an undermount spare carrier kit for Subject chassis?

If by 18K-pound Class A chassis you mean the Ford F53, a problem you will likely encounter is that tires are larger in diameter than what Ford specifications suggest will fit between frame rails; and if mounted below frame rails, somewhere behind gasoline tank, you "may" compromise ground clearance a bit much.

Also, that size tire/wheel combination (19.5") is heavy so moving it around, even on ground, would take a lot of effort.

These are reasons we probably don't see that design used often, so not much demand for such carriers. Only carriers I've seen for that size wheel/tire are hitch mounted, hanging off rear wall, or inside a large storage compartment.

A forum member here had an older motorhome designed by manufacturer with a spare tire carrier in back behind bumper. I'd guess it would have to be integrated into the rear chassis extension to achieve clearance.

245/70-19.5" tires weigh 72 lbs in the G133 rating. The 6.75x19.5" steel rim weighs 31 lbs. Roadmaster makes are rear hitch spare tire carrier <http://roadmasterinc.com/products/spare_tire/index.html>. That is the only thing that I found suitable for my coach's spare that I could lift. (Old weak 78 year old).

It's not underneath - and it's rather expensive- but look at a Roadmaster 195225. I ended up using it on my class C and I'm impressed with its features and quality. If anything it's overkill for my need but it is easy and effective all around.

My unit came with a spare tire carrier installed from the factory. It is one of the winch type units that uses a steel cable to get the tire up and into the stowing position. The winch is operated through a hole behind the license plate that is on a hinged holder and can be flipped down for operating the winch (just like the gas tank filler cap behind the license plate of many cars in the 70's).
This system works really great, and it is not that difficult to push the tires to the winch plate or pull it out from underneath the motorhome (an I am almost 74 years old!).
Anyway, I do not plan to exchange a tire, I would call roadside service. But in that case I would not have to make an emergency buy and pay a way to high price for a new tire. They can put my spare on, and that work is covered by the roadside insurance.
