Super Cheap Tire savers and Landing pads

Since I finally installed my Big Foot Levelers a week or two ago I wanted to either install some rubber feet or have some cheap rubber landing pads to put under them.

Well "Big Foot" is just that - biggest in the market (10 x 10 square). No "snap pads" for this model but I did find one for a 5th wheeler but they were like $79 per a pair. I really wanted rubber for the isolation and anti slip properties. PLUS I dont want to scratch up my driveway or any family/Friends when we go and visit them (I figured I would put them on top of my lego blocks if I need more height when camping).

I went to Atwoods Farm supply 3 miles from my house. They have rubber mats on a roll. 48 inch wide and $7.49 per a foot (so one foot by 4 foot long). 3/8 inch thick.

So I had him cut two feet total off and he cut all the squares up for me (no charge).

Now I have FOUR 12x12 squares for $7.49 (1.88 each!) and TWO 12 x 24 pieces at $7.49 (so $3.75 each). What a bargain. Heck even if they only last a year its worth it. But I think they will last a lot longer.

For the last year I been using the same rubber pads under my tires in my storage building to keep them off the concrete slab. The say concrete is hard on the tires - esp in the winter. The pads still look like new. They dont deform under the weight of the RV. Look like new.

I thought I would share this - I think they are great.

What a great idea. I wonder if you could bond the rubber to the bottom of the big foot, with some rubber to metal adhesive. Would save you having to place them under everytime. Although the adhesive would probably cost more than the rubber.

Yeah I been thinking of doing that. Plus the BF feet have 4 small holes in it so I could zip tie them or use small bolts to help hold as well. Might just use silicon I have on hand as well.
